Little Spot Cafe

The Little Spot is nothing less than the perfect mission cafe. But this is so subtle, you might miss it, especially if you just go once, or if you go hoping for an experience. Musa's cafe is like meditation. Go into it expecting nothing.
Ambience: Everything about it seems to reflect the surrounding hood. The ambiance is a naturally occurring underplay of eclectic, love-worn non-style. The only way to achieve this state is to allow it to grow organically, and to be open every day to a little of this, and a little of that.

People: An all together accepting neighborhood crowd of friendly and die-hard missioners, coming and going with ease and familiarity....it makes a person feel instantly at home.

Musa: The obvious reason for all of this is the owner, musa...an Arab- burning-man-guy in a constant battle with his conflicting desires to stay here, or move back to Jordan. I believe all of his customers can relate to the vibe that emanates from this inner wrestling match. Which of us who is looking authentically at ourselves can say that we don't have a nearly identical inner situation churning away in our souls?
We understand you musa, and we love that shelter of community you so effortlessly create. Musa's cafe tries to be nothing. In this way it opens itself to genuine love, to the families that live in the mission, and as you know, seeing children at Revolution would be an anomaly.

Menu: Oh...the food you ask? Nothing to knock your socks off, until you actually begin chewing. For some reason musa knows the art of making sandwich's and breakfast bagels, and it's sort of a mystery, but everything turns out delicious!
The coffee is good, which is saying a lot for San Francisco.
Go there with a good book, order a breakfast bagel, and enjoy real-life, better than a jim jarmusch film (but similar). You'll see why Musa will stay in business long after all the fads have passed.
