It is absolutely NOT TRUE that this pet store gets their puppies from MILLS- I volunteer every week to walk the puppies. The owner and his wife both work with and support the ACA- If you are looking for a rescue puppy this is the place!

Pros: save puppies from shelters

.

The main pro is of the store is integrity. The owner has a very strict policy regarding the dogs. He never shows a sick puppy to a customer, never sells a sick animal, and never culls a dog when it doesn't sell. The owner is very proud of the fact that all of his puppies have found homes.
The biggest con that comes to mind is that because this is a small mom & pop store it is slightly more expensive than your standard PetCo, but at least you know what you're buying.

This store uses Hunte Corporation known puppy broker for puppy mills, it's animal abuse plain & simple, don't shop at this store, don't even walk in. The only way to shut puppy mills down is to not buy puppies, this store STINKS.

Though they have supplies for all types of pets, I come here for their tropical fish. They have a good selection of both fresh and salt water varieties. More expensive than the chain stores, but the fish stock are healthy. More importantly the staff are knowledgable and very helpful about the setup and needs of an aquarium.

I've been to the store to buy aquarium products a few times now and have not been overly impressed. No information is included when buying fish (ie. temprament, temp. specifications, size, pH requirements). Also, the condition of their stock has been rather poor several times when I've been in with dead fish floating in the tanks. I was also rather unimpressed with my last order of brine shrimp which already had a foul smell and were half dead in the bag. I don't think the staff are particularly knowledgable (though there are usually enough around which is nice) and the prices are somewhat steap. Overall, one would be better heading up Wilshire to the Petco (and that's not saying much) or better yet heading over to Alan's Aquariums on Lincoln Blvd. in Venice.
