I believe they've just changed names and location, but Sophia is still there. She is the main person to deal with the contracts, booking, etc. and is the hair and makeup artist.
It's been 4 years since I took my pictures so I can only imagine they've gotten more creative with poses, scenery, and print methods??? At the time, they were the best Asian style studio in my opinion for their price. Even after frequenting the photo studios in LA, I opted to go with Sophia's.
I love the way my pictures came out and have received many compliments and have had more than 3 people ask me about my pictures actually go there.
The photographer speaks mainly Taiwanese though so you can get a little confused at times at what he wants you to do, but for the most part self explanatory enough.
As with all places, be specific as to what you are looking for if you already have a vision in mind of what you want and ask a lot of questions to be sure they can deliver what you are looking for.
Sophia's also outsources video and actual wedding day photography services. We were shown (and eventually booked) video services by an American videographer only to find out 2 weeks before the wedding that he had moved to LA sometime after we reserved him and that someone else would be filming our wedding. This is my main complaint! Since these arrangements are usually made months to a year in advance, be wary if you outsource any of these services and if you do, make sure to put the person's name in writing so you are covered.
So, I give Sophia's 4 stars for their photos and 3 for my overall experience with them.
