Definitely the best steak sandwich's that I've had so far. Small and clean place with a nice mom and pop feel to it. And they have a nice selection of sandwich's with very generous portions of meat. You should try it.

I could not find a better tasting sub in the area. The only comparable one I could think of is in Atlantic City. The service at Sonia's is better. You can taste the quality of the meat. And you have your choice of cheese and onions and green pepper and mushrooms. Well you should just try it if you are in the area. I should warn you that their hours are short - from 12PM to 6PM. And I would recommend taking out. Enjoy.

Pros: Taste, Proximity, Access

Cons: Eating Area, Operating Hours

Sonia's is a couple blocks south of San Jose State, and during lunch hours you can find a lot of local blue collar workers dining here. The reason? Its fast, good, and cheap. Though Sonia's claims to have the best steak sandwiches in the bay, They are a bit too expensive for what you get, which is mostly bread with a little steak and cheese. However, the hamburgers here are a really good deal. Less than $4 and youve got yourself a triple with cheese, onions, lettuce, and tomato. The onions are diced, the burger is well done, but at that price who cares? Its quick and yummy, also theres no tables inside for eating-- patio only.

Pros: Good, Cheap Burgers, Quick

Cons: Cheesesteaks are eh, No indoor seating
