I love Father Natures. I worked in Pasadena for over a year and my co-workers and I would walk there for lunch all the time. And I ALWAYS ordered my wrap different, and they never got it wrong, so I don't know what the deal was with that other reviewer. They were never rude, just not overly friendly, but the more we went in and were continually nice to them, they warmed up and we've even gotten some smiles and friendly banter. But hey, even if they were rude I would eat there all the time. I love their wraps.

I use to be one of the starving students that lived in the Pasadena area. While working two jobs to make ends meat I discovered this place and have been hooked ever since. Five years later I still go and have even gotten my husband addicted. I've tried almost everything on the menu. Their ingredients are fresh, their hummus is delicious, their menu choices are health conscious but their service is pretty bad. It's a family owned establishment so they hold no shame in letting you know that they could care less about how they make you feel. Despite the fact that I am a huge stickler for good customer service, I love their food so much I can't stop myself from going again and again

Cons: Lemon faced workers

This place is a wonderful experience! Not only was the food delicious but the service was extraordinary and extremely accommodating! I walked into this restaurant with an upset stomach and walked out with a smile on my face! They treated me like family!I was so happy with how wonderful the staff were that I gave them hugs! I LOVE IT!

As one reviewer observed, if you are not put off by a sourpuss front order, than you will enjoy the food experience at Father nature. The turkey burger wrap is delicious. I could see why the health concious love this hole-in- the-wall place. The lavosh wraps are spill free so you don't have to worry too much about staining your blouse unless you dip it in the creamy tahini sauce that accompanies it. I love the Father nature fries with the sprinkling of cayenne pepper. They are better than those pastrami stand fries. The salad and vegetarian menus seem very popular with the people who ordered after us.
The staff acted like they didn't need my business, so unfortunately for my tastebuds, I won't be a repeat customer. Considerate service is a bit more important to me especially since I am a respectful and appreciative customer, unlike the vulgar man next to me who wiped the sweat off his feet with the stores' napkins and then stuffed more in his loafers. The oaf couldn't even walk one yard to throw away his food trash. Air-conditioning would go a long way in perking up the wilty mood of this place.

Pros: health-conscious cuisine, condiment bar, next to a busy yogurt store

Cons: minimal effort from staff to create a repeat customer, it's solely the food that brings you back

My girlfriend dragged me through Delancey street because she wanted to go to forever 21. On the way there, we peeked in Father Nature's Cafe and it was busy; and I always make a point to visit little hole in the wall's whenever I see a crowd. So after enduring what seemed like an ice age in forever 21, I returned the favor and dragged my girlfriend into father nature's cafe. I'm glad I went as the food was very good. I had the father nature wrap and my girl had the grilled chicken wrap. I also ordered the fries which were good but after about 10 minutes became soggy. No worries. The wraps are the reason to go. I loved the lavash that they used. Gave it good texture. As usual I freeloaded from my girl's wrap and her's was good too. The garlic sauce and tahini was just as good as what I usually get at Al-Wazir and Zankou in Hollywood. The next time I go, I'm going to try the turkey burger wrap and a honey baklava.

Hands down, this is my favorite place to go to for lunch! Back when I used to work in old town, I'd walk across the street to Father Nature's for lunch EVERY SINGLE DAY. Some days, I'd bring a wrap home for dinner (although, the wraps don't travel too well). The father nature wrap is my faaaavorite. The french connection, vege, gardeners, greek chicken, double hummus wraps are all wonderful as well. Love their tahini sauce. mmm.. I can taste the hummus now. Quick and cheap.. definitely my pick for a great lunch. OH MY GOSH! i almost forgot... their father fries are THE BEST FRIES I've had. the seasoning is yum. My husband doesn't like wraps but i converted him... or rather, father nature's converted him.. He absolutely loves the father nature wrap, but not as much as i do, of course! =] yum yum yum.

Pros: wraps, fries, quick service

Cons: waaay crowded during lunch on weekdays

I first ate here with my girlfriend about 5 years ago and recently we ate here again. The Lavash wraps are just as delicious as anything else on their menu (more like Sharwarma, it is similar to the Iranian Tanur bread, but only this is Armenian) and the usual rostisserie style chicken. The falafels are really tasty and the tahini's one of a kind where you can't get anywhere else but here. Nothing's really changed, the food is delicious and I do somewhat agree with the other reviewer about the owner and its staff, you have to build rapport with them to overcome the boredom, other than that it's a great place to enjoy fantastic wraps.

Don't get me wrong, the food here is good. However, if you would like your wrap, sandwich or salad prepaired in a different way than it states on the menu, you can forget about it. If you ask for no garlic sauce you will get extra. If you ask for no turnips you will get a turnip wrapped in a tortilla. I really like their #9 with no turnips and humous instead of garlic, but out of the 20 times ive ordered it they have gotten it right about 4 times. Now many people don't think the service is that friendly, however i beg to differ. I myself am sick and tired of people who smile at you, act kindly towards you and treat you with respect. Being surly and grumpy most of the day I look forward to the cold scowles and the 'Im better than you' looks I get when I go here. One time when I placed a to go order they said it wasnt ready when i came to pick it up, but in reality, it was sitting in the warming drawer the whole time. If i didnt enjoy being starved and angered so much I would have been upset, but hey, making your customers wait while their food wilts in the oven is a restaurant classic! The joke certainly was on me. Oh father nature, you jokester you!

PROS: When they get your order correct it is an amazing experience
CONS: They never get your order right

Not the most friendly staff, but they have a variety of food and it is good. I am always looking for a healthy alternative and this is right downt he street. They have soups, salads, wraps and more. It is different so if you are picky you might have some problems, but it is good.

I used to work near here and ate here several times a week. There's something about their spicy tahini sauce--my mouth waters just thinking about it. I have actually driven up from San Diego specifically to eat here, as odd as that sounds. Now that I live in LA, I make it out a couple times a month. I'm not sure what happened but I distinctly remember the owner being a much happier fellow a couple years ago. Lately he just seems...down. It's really hard to get more than one container of the spicy tahini. I almost feel like bribing them for more. It's cool to sit upstairs. It's also cool that it's off the main drag so tourists don't know about it.

this place is great. tasty chicken and healthy wraps.
i usually get the ultimate salad. kinda expensive for a salad but has it tastes good and doesn't make you fell bad for eating some falafel balls.
also the split pea soup is awesome.

PROS: super healthy food
CONS: small place

A bit on the dry/chewy side at times, but their wraps are generally pretty good. The line and wait for your order is probably the worst part, as you dodge customers coming in and waiting alongside you.

One day you go in for a wrap sandwich, the next thing you know, you're craving it a few times a week. I've seen it happen to so many people! The service is as quick as a fast food restaurant but most of the choices here are healthy (vegetarian, broiled meats, etc.).

Father Nature is one of my favorite places to go for a healthy lunch or dinner. I am a bit of a "good for you" food freak and this place really satisfies that. My favorite is the "Fisherman's Wrap". It has grilled salmon and a little garlic sauce and some other goodies. So good! If you are looking for a quick, healthy bite right in the heart of Old Town Pasadena go to Father Nature.

PROS: healthy food, convenient to Old Town
CONS: parking is a not too close because it is in Old Town

Not a bad place to go for lunch, although I find it rather expensive for what you get, and considering the service. My last trip there, they really skimped on the falafel, and bulked up on the lettuce. Also, the falafels tend to be dry sometimes.

The sides and cheese wrap are great though.

Quick, efficient, tasty, healthy - that's a wrap at Father Natures. They're large, they're full of salad, they're freshly made - why go anywhere else?

Great tiny diner in Old Pasadena for Middle Eastern food. I love the Fisherman's Wrap, which is salmon, and the lentil soup. And the bulgar pilaf is very nice. For a light meal, try the bite-size chicken wrap. Prices are pretty modest.

This place is worth it for the Seinfeld-esque atmosphere. Once you order there is no place to sit so you have to mill around in the no-man's-land between the door and the register. You spend most of your time dodging the new customers and the people throwing their garbage out. There's also the guy behind the counter who always looks depressed no matter what you order and the woman who makes the sandwiches seems resigned to her fate. The food is typically good middle eastern type stuff which you usually regret after eating.

Excellent food. Great service, but can be slow at lunchtime (best to call ahead). I've been eating there on a regular basis for 5 years now. #9 or the cheese baguette w/ chicken breast.

Seems to be family owned -and they start cooking your order as you're placing it. The shop is pretty small, but they seem to somehow accomodate the crowds, especially at lunch. And hey, there's always Take-Out! If anything, try the Father Nature Fries...they rock!

Father Nature is home to a pretty darn good wrap in Old Town. Start with a giant sheet of flat bred, load it with things like hummus, grilled chicken, or falafels, and voila! You have an extremely tasty, healthy, and inexpensive meal. Highly recommended.

For a healthy meal on the run, this tiny spot on the edge of Old Pasadena is a good place to know about. It's basically a fast-food environment with a small ground floor dining room and upstairs loft, but the food is tasty and relatively…
