I had many friends who had sent their children here and raved about it. I lived in the area but traveled across town to what I thought was a better school. After three months of paying a lot of money for a place that looked good but nothing interesting ever happened I dropped in at Child's Play. It was a buzz of excitement children were busy making hearts and hanging them all over the school, for their Red Food Party. Some were cutting hearts out of beets, others were painting with red bubbles, three girls were dancing with red and pink scarves while a boy pounded a drum, and Vivaldi was playing in the background. The staff was amazing the children amazingly happy and enthusiastic. The enviroment was clearly created for the use of children, nothing for show all and they were eating the heart shaped beets! After another month at the old place my husband and I made the switch. We have been under the spell of Child's Play's magic ever since.

I took my painfully shy son there the first few days I left him screaming 2 weeks later he screamed on Sat when I said there was no school!
I am a single dad and wish I found Child's Play when my daughter was in preschool. The Director is great, funny, available for any question from parenting to cooking to how to make a tinker bell costume or my favorite what color to paint my living room. My first weeks there I was worried about the meekness of my son she explained he was not shy just particular with very high standards. "He chooses his friends with a lot of thought and then gives his heart." He is now in the 3rd grade and doing great and is a great judge of character unlike his dad. I still check in for advice several times a year. I miss it the food, the art, the humor, and especially the Halloween Parties.

Wow I thought I was doing this for my son, but I think we both benefited. I am a single parent and I received as much learning and nurturing as my son and all done in a way that made me laugh. The creative energy and excitement that goes along with the most mundane task is exhilarating! The art is worth framing and the amazing cooking projects have inspired my son to try anything. The other thing I really appreciated is that the kids are taught to be thoughtful.
He is going into first grade and doing great and his kindergarten teacher when he started said "I love kids from that school"

My daughter goes here and she loves it. The staff are caring and attentive to her needs. When I pick her up she doesn't want to leave and when it's not a school day she's counting down for the days to come. There's cooking, dance class, gardening and a genuine concern for the environment and well-being of the planet!
