A-1 Appliance Repair

We had a fridge on the fritz and Don honestly advised us that it would be more expensive, ultimately, to fix it than to get a new one. Without any prompting, he told us what to look for, what to avoid, and how to go about our purchase. Our fridge fit in a space too short to follow his advice to the letter without compromising capacity, newer models being an inch or two taller than our old one, but all in all we were very happy and will call him again if we have an appliance act up.

We got a great repair of our Wolf stove--with same day service. Quick diagnosis and subsequent replacement of a failed "igniter" solved the problem. During the repair, Don proved to be very pleasant and highly informative. I understand my stove much better now.

I have an LG dishwasher that conked out on me with an LE error. I read up on the web and after trying the stuff mere mortals can do, I called Don at A1 Appliance Repair. We talked on the phone for a while and he gave me a few more suggestions to try. When they didn't pan out, I called and Don came over the same day. He tracked it down to a broken wire behind the front door panel--totally random as it wasn't even at a flex point. He also gave me a ton of good information on how to prolong the life of my dishwasher (treat it as a sanitizer, so make sure dishes are free of all particulate matter, don't stick in jars or bottles that have labels on them, etc.), and warned me not to leave the house while it's running. He also walked me around the house and showed me how to turn off the water, electricity and gas. What a great thing to do! I can't wait to show the rest of my household. Don says he's self-enjoyed, because his work is what gives him pleasure. It's such a relief to find someone who's knowledgable and ethical--if anything goes wrong with any of our appliances, it's almost already handled!

We recently had a pest in our stove, which then needed the soiled insulation replaced...yuck! He called me back within minutes and talked with me for a long time over the phone about the problem. He certainly seemed to care, and certainly seemed to know his stuff. He flat out told us that the stove needed replacing. In fact he said that he had had the same issue with other past clients, and after replacing the insulation, the smell remained, disgustingly and all, so that now he recommends against wasting time replacing the insulation, since it just doesnt get rid of the smell and health issues. In essence, he was turning down work in an effort to help us.
Thank you Don....you're a life saver!

I called him yesterday about our dryer that was no longer producing heat.

Today he came out and in less than an hour it was fixed.

This is a local a business I'll be using again!

I highly recommend A-1 Appliance Repair. Don had all the parts he needed in his truck and was able to finish the repair quickly. After my fridge was professional repaired he took the time to show me how to turn off my water, gas and electricity in case of an emergency. He is not just a skilled service technician but also a member of the community.

Don was really great. He came the same day, when he said, and had the parts in his truck. He also had lots of advice about other stuff like baking soda, german dishwashers, ovens and garbage disposals... Whew, he dropped more knowledge than I could assimilate in one visit. I'll definitely call him again.

I needed my dryer fixed for some time. I was hesitant to just call anyone to fix it, for fear of not being treated with honesty. I was very happy to find Don with A-1 Appliance Repair! He was very knowledgeable and went above and beyond the call of duty. He was honest and competatively priced. I actually feel safer (as he spent time showing me how to get to all of the tricky places in my dryer to clean it out). I would call him again if I have an appliance that needs repair.

I needed my dryer serviced and called A-1 Appliance Repair early in the morning. Don called back soon after and came about 9:30. After looking at the dryer and doing a good cleaning, he said the mystery noise was normal and there was no need for an expensive repair......he was prompt and more important honest about the work that was needed. I would recommend him as a good local repair service.

My dryer decided to give out this week, and after lots of hunting around to find someone who repaired Frigidaire appliances in my area, I found Don, owner of A-1 Appliance Repair. Not only did he give me the most reasonable estimate around, he took the time to really explain and show me everything that needed repair. I got the sense that he was really more interested in my best interest and forming a long term relationship with me than making a quick few hundred bucks fixing a machine that he didn't think was worth fixing (obviously leaving the decision up to me). He also gave me some very good advice about safety precautions and appliances, which I will take to heart. I recommend giving them a call if you're looking for a trustworthy, local resource.

A pleasure to do business with and the staff is great. Our washing machine gave out last year and needed some repairing. Our neighbor suggested A 1 Appliance Repair who fixed they're furnace before so we gave them a shot. I was very happy with the friendly service over the phone.
