I have been shopping at Theresa's for a little over a year. I used to go to Big Al's, but since the ownership change, I don't like it there anymore. I never knew that Theresa's was so great! I wish I had gone there a long time ago. The prices are so reasonable, the selection is outstanding and best of all, the actually have employees that are friendly and know what they are talking about. One woman named Sue that helped me used to work at Big Al's. I am so glad that I found her again at Theresa's. She has helped me many times through the years. The whole staff is caring and helpful. If you need to know anything about reptiles the guy that works there, James is the best. Their fish store is nice too!

I went in there and adopted 2 wonderful dogs from Pawz and Clawz. They already had the dogs checked by a vet, neutered, shots, worming medicine done, and I got a free vet exam along with alot of other extras that was really nice. I like how they dont let people handle the animals because Ive been to other adoption places and they let anyone play with them and thats how they get sick. I completely understand why they do it the way they do. I could genuinely see that they truly cared about the animals there and they were extremely helpful and answered all my questions. They even offered me a free obedience class for the dogs. I think any place that saves animals from shelters is going to have issues with sick animals from time to time. Its part of the job but I know this rescue just saved 10 puppies and an the mama dog that belonged to a Theresas customer that all came down with parvo. The owner personally went to these peoples house to help them save these dogs since they couldnt afford to take them to the vet and keep them all in hospital. Shoot if exams are about 45 bucks can you imagine how much 11 sick dogs would cost? All of the dogs survived and they didnt have to help these people. I think that says alot. They even told me about other rescues in the area and the shelters since I am new to area which was cool of them. Most places wouldnt tell do that if they didnt have what you want, theyd rather go get it for you themselves. Ive rescued cats before and went to another place in Simi that has adoptions and by far the one at Theresas was way more helpful and caring. I also think the staff at the actual store is great too. They helped me find everything for my new dogs and stayed with me until I was ready to pay to make sure I got everything I needed. I definitely am going to go back there. You dont find many stores that are that customer friendly anymore and with my 2 new dogs Im going be buying alot of toys and food!!

Paws n Claws is where i adopted my puppy back in December, She has been amazing, no problems. Everyone has such a horrible thing to say about them, maybe because they picked the wrong pet to adopt, before adopting look at what problems the dog has before purchasing, they also give you a day to take your pup to the vet to make sure everything is okay, and if not wanting the animal you can take it back. people are so harsh for no reason. I do have to say though, i wish paws n claws let you play with the puppy before purchasing. other than that, i have a fun healthy puppy :)

I love the store, great selection, decent prices, friendly employees but they take absolutely no responsibility for the animal rescue group that uses the store. You adopt from a rescue group in a reputable store thinking that the store at least screens the rescue group or takes the complaints about the rescue group seriously. I am not shopping there any more. If you are planning on adopting, please check up on their Rescue group: Paws and Claws, sure you will go somewhere else as well. There are plenty of good rescue groups or go directly to a shelter. Again, the store and the employees are great, just don't adopt an animal there.

Theresa's is a horrible place for the animals that come out of there. I have known two people who adopted animals from their 'Paws and Claws' adoption agency, one of which was a 6 week old kitten (who was too small and too young to be adopted out by far), who was NOT neutered and had no medical issues taken care of. The kitten was flea-ridden, full of worms and parasites including ghiardia and coxidia and had a horrible Upper Respiratory Infection that lasted for a month, at massive veterinary bills to the owner. It is unethical to send a sick animal that is less than two pounds home with ANYONE. Not to mention the fact that the animal was not neutered. Granted, they give a voucher for a free spay or neuter with adoption, but the voucher is to the world's worst veterinarian who has killed more animals than he has saved, and the voucher EXPIRES. Kittens need to be at least two pounds to be spayed or neutered and he didn't reach that weight until after the voucher expired! How could you do that?! There is enough of a pet overpopulation problem already without people who claim to try to help animals in need like a certified rescue group like Paws and Claws just adding the horrible mayhem. Another person I know adopted a 'puppy' from Paws and Claws. Not only was this puppy not spayed, but she was PREGNANT, and the adoption agency neglected to tell the new adoptive owner of this condition! She made an appointment with an actually halway decent veterinarian and he was able to tell her right away that her newly adopted 'puppy' was pregnant. When she went back to confront the Theresa's employees who seem to act as the only volunteers that come to help clean and feed these poor creatures, they claim they did not know. If they had had the animal checked out by a vet before sending it out the door with some unsuspecting owner, things like this would not happen. The mother dog (who also had kennel cough, might I add), gave birth two weeks after being adopted from Theresa's. And after her puppies were all weaned, the voucher for her 'free' spay EXPIRED. What does the 'donation' fee even go to for these animals if NONE of their medical needs are taken care of and if NONE of them are spayed or neutered when they are sent out the door? If you ask me, this has SCAM written all over it, with animals as the victims. I feel for Theresa's, it is not their fault, but they house an illicit DISGUSTING operation that claims to be a rescue organization. For your sake and for the animals sake, Theresa's, GET RID OF PAWS AND CLAWS.

I've been to a few pet stores around Simi, and I just love this one. Theresa's country feed & pet store has great prices and a great selection. Their staff is super friendly and I always enjoy a bag of their free welcome popcorn! This place is so much better than Big Al's!!!

I go into Theresa's country feed for my dog's food. I love the fact you can push a cart with your dogies in it and have no problem getting thru the isles with other customers. I asked if they could help me trim my dogs nails, and they stopped what they were doing and trimmed them at no cost! Then my daughter who is a kitty freak went to the back of the store to check out the adopted animals, and found one of the workers hand feeding the kittens. She let her hold one. That was a positive experience all around. I was bummed when I needed to return a product that was not used and nothing was taken apart our changed. They deducted 10% from my return price because the box was opened. It was my responsibility to check the policies of the store but forgot to do so, since i was enjoying a good bag of popcorn ;) so if you want to buy something and decide to return please read the rules and don't screw up like I did. They are super nice people and I enjoy going in every single time! A final note: The owner said he would match any of his competitors prices. Call him on that.

This store has the largest selection of everything you could need for your cat, dog, bird, reptile, or fish and more. The prices are also the lowest in town. Staff is usually very helpful.

I went in to find a simple bed for my puppy. This place rocks. They have everything you could possible need for most types of pets. The associates were very nice and friendly. I not only walked out with a bed for my pup, but snacks, toys, and books on his perticular breed. Their prices are very reasonable too. I would suggest that you come here for all your pets needs.

A large pet warehouse, they have reptiles and other pets. They carry tons of dog and cat food as well as food for other animals. They have dog and cat adoptions on certain weekends. They have a lot of dog toys and pet care products. Their staff is knowledgeable and very helpful.
