The name is changed to Susina Bakery, but the location and the fabulous treats inside remain the same. This charming bakery is in a beautiful space that has the feel of a French bakery, but is oh so Los Angeles. They serve mainly pastries, cookies, sandwiches and candies. The glass bakery cases are so beautifully displayed you can't decide what to get. A fruit tart, croissant or a raspberry shortbread cookie? Lots of seating and bistro tables outside.

5 Stars: YUMMY! (by sue e.)

THE AMBIANCE IS WONDERFUL -- AS ARE THE PASTRIES. SOMETIMES, WE GO IN FOR A CUP OF TEA AND A PASTRY AND JUST SIT AND RELAX. THE STAFF IS VERY NICE AND VERY HELPFUL. I RECOMMEND SUSINA'S!

5 Stars: you can't do better than Susina (by JoAnna M.)

I tell all my clients to order their birthday cakes from here. They rock. The prices are very reasonable, and they will sell you one bit of deliciousness at a time. Great cappucino. This place goes beyond French pastry, they do Italian pastries with exquisite skill.

PROS: a pastry chef who really knows her stuff, friendly staff, and a large, comfy seating area.
CONS: meter parking, but that can be dealt with...

5 Stars: (by Carrie N.)

Susina (as the bakery is now named) is a wonderful spot to enjoy delicious cakes and pastries. The staff is always wonderfully friendly and helpful in suggesting particular treats since choosing is often a dilemma when choosing desserts. The selection isn't overwhelmingly large, but there are enough choices to whet the appetite. The ingredients are high quality and there is plenty of room to sit down with friends or to set down a few reading materials as you enjoy your food. There are also tasty looking sandwiches available. Parking isn't exactly plentiful, but there are some meters and perhaps some residential parking, though there is a back lot that is often full. For chocolate lovers, the hazelnut torte is very rich and satisfies cravings.

I had heard of this bakery through a friend who felt it was one of the best bakeries he had visited. My wife and I visited on a Saturday, and found it a cool place, but as usual, the build-up didn't match the product, in my opinion. The baked goods were somewhat expensive, and although pretty to look at, there did not seem to be a large selection. Sandwiches were available for lunch, and these were pricey. Just my opinion, but I thought Sugarplum Bakery was a tad overrated.

5 Stars: Best desserts in LA - open late 11pm (by Foodie 9.)

Open until 11pm everynight.
European and American desserts and pastries that are butter and chocolate lovers' dream. This place is charming and romantic. The food is fresh, delicious, lovely, and yummy. Things to try - chocolate cherry scone, Berry Blossom cake, Red Velvet cake, Italian cookies, banana and coconut cream pies, chocolate hazelnut tart, and the best croissants this side of the Atlantic.

They also have great panini, salad, soup and quiche for lunch. And an endless supply of candy and sweets.

Bakery/cafe/coffee house/catering. They do amazing Wedding cakes too.

Susina used to be called Sugarplum, which is also listed here - it's all the same except the name.

Close to Hollywood and Beverly Hills.

http://www.susinabakery.com

PROS: Foodies delight, open late, best desserts
CONS: parking can be hard at peak times
