VAn Van Hair salon. Torrance is the worst hair salon.
I asked the hair stylist to do make hair color like same color as my currenct hair ,
After drying the hair, I was so disappointed because the color became black color from my color, chestnuts.

I have been to this place several times. I usually request Noriko because she is really good at coloring my hair! She knows what she is doing and what I want. I totally recommend this salon to anybody who hasn't visited yet.

I always get my hair cut here (: They know how to work with asian hair. Maybe a bit on the pricey side for some people, however the service is very good. The stylists (I usually go with Noriko) are very knowledgeable about what products you should use/would work with your hair.

i went to this salon the other day and I really like my new color and style!!
My hair stylist was Noriko. She explain how the color works. well, all of us have the experience that it is not the color i wanted! kind- now I kinda understand why. We decided the color and wala! it looks great! She also show me how to style it, and gave me some tip to keep the color.
Friendly atmosphere, not expensive ( I spent about $110), you want to try this place!

This is my first time to go to a japanese salon to have my very first "japanese style" haircut particularly and have my hair dyed...and I was NOT disappointed. Eventhough I just called for an appointment today, they were able to put me in. I was even 20 mins late! But they never fuss about it.

The staff was very friendly and accomodating. My stylist, HiROKi, and I easily became friends! (she even gave me a movie ticket, she said that she was very busy today and won't be able to use it, so I can have it). She listens to what you want, give you pictures for style and color reference (which is good if you don't have an idea on what you really want). And patiently waits until you decide on what style & color you want. I've changed my mind several times, but she was so patient with me. She also make suggestions if it doesn't look good on you and what will work better depending on the shape of your face and complexion. She has a very thick japanese accent, but I had no difficulty communicating with her. She also gave me techniques on my new hairstyle, on how to blow-dry / curl it and what kind of product is best to use for my hairtype / hair style.

I spent $93 for cut & color (including shampoo, conditioner and blow-dry). It took 3 hrs for the entire process...the prices are affordable (the cheapest find so far) and I got a discount for being a new customer. I gave her a $40 tip for a job well done!!! That was the biggest tip I've given in my entire life! And by the way, the color treatment she gave me doesn't "sting" my scalp, it feels cool & relaxing, unlike in other salons that have this burning feeling on my scalp.

I'll definitely go back and recommend Van Van Hair Salon!

If you want someone to give you a haircut the way you want it and not the way they think is best, then this is where you wanna go. I always ahve trouble at salons since the hairstylist think their idea of a hair cut is better, but this salon listens to what I say and normally I walk out happy. Check it out..

PROS: they listen!
CONS:

Everytime I try to get a haircut with Toshi, he is really good, takes his time, if you have lots of hair and want to get rid of some volume and make it easy to style, this is the guy to go to.
