My choice for emergency care  5 Star Rating - World class

We had a very ill cat, we took her to the Sunset clinic in the morning and the care was appalling - in the evening we took her to Eagle Rock, the staff was wonderful, kind and patient, the care was very reasonably priced and they treated us with the utmost respect. They have great vets and assistants on staff, and wonderful vets on call.

Dont go to this clinic  2 Star Rating - Wouldn't recommend

everything you read that is negative about this clinic is true. They delivered a dead pet to my car would not let me hold her saying they had to be careful, she had been dead for hours. They are dishonest and unethical

WORTH IT  5 Star Rating - World class

My dog woke me up crying with a twisted stomach and was bloated, I called them and they said it was not good and to rush in ASAP, I did they operated and basically saved my dogs life, they were honest with me on what could happen I accepted that and they did their job! They were professional and quick! I've been there several times in the past and each time they have done their job and saved my dogs life! I have saved their number for things like this and it was worth it!

Efficient if not pleasant  3 Star Rating - Satisfactory

It is what it is. A place to bring emergencies. The staff while not pleasant, were efficient and professional.

The waiting room was the last place in the world I wanted to be; really you are only there because you have to be.

But considering they may have one of the worst jobs in the vet world I think they do ok. Seriously? Can you imagine having to work the graveyard shift to treat every animal that may not live till morning. It might make you a bit bitter too. Other vets get to see happy healthy animals all the time, not these people. Only sad depressing cases and very upset owners cross their paths.

So yes, only go if you have to, but be thankful knowing they are there for you.

Georgie  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

I brought my dog here after an auto accident. My poor georgie got hit by a car. They told me he just has a broken arm. I paid the xrays, dextrose and he was kept there overnight or observation for any internal stuff. He was released to me the next morning and said that he was fine and ate well when he awoke. When we got home i nursed him for two days then he coughed up blood and died! You tell me if this emergency clinic is good? They killed my poor little georgie!!!! Please look or ask around for other pet clinics even if you have to drive far..It's worth it, your little angel is worth it!

No Frills but decent for emergencies  4 Star Rating - Very good

We had to rush our neighbors tiny dog here after it got into our backyard thinking he was bigger than he was and fought with our big dog, the small dog was in critical condition and this vet was quick, thorough and explained all possible difficulties and problems. I can't say enough about how pleased we were regarding service etc not to mention the peace of mind we get having an emergency pet hospital this competent so close.

I am happy to say the little dog survived and lives to still torment our big dog through the new reinforced fence of course!

Horrible service  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

The staff is extremely rude and uncaring. They were dismissive with all of the people waiting in the clinic. The doctors are very, very unsympathetic.

I would recommend looking elsewhere. I have never witnessed such deplorable service in my life.

THEY JUST CARE ABOUT THE MONEY!!!  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

IN THIS CLINIC THEY JUST CARE ABOUT MONEY OR PUTTING ANIMAL TO SLEEP. I WANTED TO ADOPT ONE OF THE DOGS AND THEY CHARGED ME $800. AFTER THAT THE DOG WAS TAKEN TO A RESCUE GROUP AND THEY DIDN'T WANT TO GIVE THE NUMBER OR THE NAME OF THE RESCUE GROUP IF I DIDN'T PAY . I WANTED TO ADOPT THAT DOG TO GIVE HIM A BETTER LIFE AND CARE BECAUSE HE WAS NEGLECTED .I HATE THIS PLACE THE STAFF IS RUDE AND SEEM NOT TO CARE ABOUT ANIMALS.

One solution at this vet.  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

Save yourself the trip in. This vet has one solution for all problems. Put the animal to sleep. All of us left in tears and all 5 went home without their pet. Avoid this vet.

DO NOT GO HERE!!!  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

MY 4 YEAR OLD CAT (VERY HEALTHY) WAS BREATHING ALITTLE HEAVY ON A FRIDAY NIGHT, SO TO BE SAFE I TOOK HIM TO EAGLE ROCK PET CLINIC (SINCE MY REGULAR VET WAS ALREADY CLOSED). THAT WAS THE BEGINING OF MY NIGHTMARE. MY CAT WAS PLAYING, EATING, DRINKING, GOING TO THE BATHROOM AND MEOWING BEFORE I TOOK HIM THERE, HE WAS JUST BREATHING ALITTLE HEAVY. THE STAFF WAS RUDE FROM THE GET GO, NOT ONLY TO ME BUT TO EVERYONE THERE. WHEN THE VET CHECKED OUT MY CAT, SHE TOLD ME HE WAS IN CONGESTIVE HEART FAILURE AND HE NEEDED TO STAY OVER NIGHT FOR TESTS AND TREATMENT, TO THE TUNE OF $770.00. THE NEXT DAY WHEN I PICKED HIM UP AT 7AM, HE WAS LIFELESS, LIMP IN MY ARMS AND BARELY ABLE TO KEEP HIS EYES OPEN. THEY HAD PUT HIM ON 2 MEDICATIONS, ONE TO REGULATE HIS HEART BEAT AND A DIURETIC TO PULL THE FLUID OUT OF HIS LUNGS. THROUGHOUT THE WEEKEND HE DIDN'T EAT, MEOW, GO TO THE BATHROOM, OR BARELY WALK. HE WAS THOWING UP AND, AND STRUGGLING TO BREATH. I CALLED THE CLINIC 2 TIMES IN 2 DAYS AND THEY SAID IT WAS ALL NORMAL. MONDAY MORNING I TOOK HIM TO HIS REGULAR VET, THEY WERE CONFUSED ON HIS CONDITION. THEN I TOOK HIM TO A SPECIALIST AND THEY WERE APPALLED. I PAID THEM $779.00 FOR THEM TO TELL ME THAT MY CAT'S HEART WAS EXCEPTIONALLY HEALTHY AND HE HAD A VIRUS IN HIS CHEST THAT SOEM STERIODS WOULD GET RID OF. NOT ONLY WAS I TREMENDOUSLY HAPPY THAT MY CAT WAS HEALTHY, I SAW MY CAT COME BACK TO LIFE. THE SPECIALIST TOLD ME THERE WERE SEVERAL THINGS THAT ALARMED HER: WHY DID EAGLE ROCK PET CLININC SEDATE MY CAT AFTER THEY THOUGHT HE HAD A HEART CONDIDITON (THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS), WHY ERE BOTH OF HIS PAWS SHAVED, BRUISED AND SCABBY, WHY DID THEY SHAVE HIS NECK? SHE ALSO TOLD ME THAT THE MEDICINE THEY PUT HIM ON WAS KILLING HIM, HE WAS SEVERLY DE-HYDRATED FROM THE DIURETIC AS WELL AS HAD NOT EATEN IN 3 DAYS AND WAS THROWING UP FROM THE HEART PILL. SO I ASK YOU, WAS IT WORTH IT? NO, I WOULD HAVE DRIVEN ACROSS THE COUNTRY TO GET THE CARE MY CAT NEEDED AND PAID ANY AMOUNT OF MONEY. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE IF YOU WANT THEM TO GET BETTER AND LIVE. THESE PEOPLE CARE ABOUT THE MONEY, NOT YOU OR YOUR PET.

PROS: ABSOLUTELY NONE
CONS: EVERY ONE POSSIBLE

I trust them all the way  5 Star Rating - World class

Emergency vets are expensive no matter where you go. I have been using the same emergency vet service for over 12 years and I have never been disappointed by the level of care.

I have gone to Eagle Rock Emergency Vet clinic for everything from dogs with broken legs, dying cats, and maladies of every flavor. They have handled it all with care and respect.

fabulous, compassionate and great for emergencies!  5 Star Rating - World class

I have been a client of this place for the past 10 years, and every single time I have been there, the experience has been consistently the same = GREAT. When my old Lhasa started having health issues, he was here three times for bloat/gastric torsion. He was a crabby guy (his nickname was Bin Lhasa), but they always treated him kindly and compassionately. The third time the bloat came back, I decided to let him go, which they helped me do in a very gentle way.

The rescue Cocker that I got after Max died was also a client of this clinic, but only one time. Shortly after I got him, William passed out in the back yard in the middle of the night. I scooped him up and drove to the vet but he died in the car on the way there. The doctor confirmed his death and that was all that could be done, but the clinic was kind enough, after accepting my $80 payment for the visit, to REVERSE THE CHARGES to $40.

I feel very fortunate to live close to this emergency pet clinic. I cannot imagine having a dog and not having this resource when it is needed. They are fabulous.

Thank you!!  4 Star Rating - Very good

I couldn't believe how great the staff was with my cat who got hit by a car. His eyeball was hanging out and he had a broken jaw. They fixed the jaw and stitched his socket closed and had him stable 6 hours later. He was actually purring when they brought him to us the next morning. The staff was very loving to my cat and showed him alot of affection. I took him back there the next night because I had more faith in them than my vet.

pricey, but they know what they are doing  4 Star Rating - Very good

My great dane dog came in with a condition known as gastric torsion and bloat. They acted quickly, knew exactly what they were doing and remained calm the whole time. After they stabilized him, they had me take him to another place that could perform the surgery. The other clinic said that Eagle Rock did an excellent job stabilizing and preparing him for the surgery. Four days later, my dog is home and doing well. Many dogs that get this will not survive. If the owner and vets don't know about the breed and the symptoms, the dog will suffer horribly. Thank you Eagle Rock.

Great Resource on Nights and Weekends!!!  4 Star Rating - Very good

We've taken both of our dogs here on several occasions. One ate gopher poison another was just "not himself" -- panting, edgy, whimpering. On both occasions the staff were helpful. Don't expect a kindly grandma type to come hold your hand and reassure you, but do expect professionals who know what they're doing. Both of our experiences were great and they took very good care of our dog who ate the gopher poison. As for the big guy who just "wasn't himself" -- the vet tech looked at him, checked him out, and told us she thought he was ok. She gave us the option of waiting for the vet to do a once over when she finished her surgery or to come back later, or to just watch him and see how he did. So far he's been fine, and she didn't charge us a penny! I've also called them from time to time (once when our pitbull ate 2 dozen chocolate frosted cookies) and they've always been helpful. They are an URGENT CARE clinic. They don't know you, your dog, or its history. They do, however, know what to do in an emergency, and at 1:30 a.m. that's the best I can ask for!

Good in an emergency  4 Star Rating - Very good

I've taken my dog here twice. This clinic should only be used in emergency and usually just so your pet can be stabilized until you can get them to their usual vet. If you can wait until the morning, don't go here. The first time I took my dog here she had a really bizarre infection and a high fever. They put her on IV fluids and antibiotics until I could take her to her regular vet the next morning. If they hadn't been available my dog could have been in really bad shape with permanent damage. I took her there again when an unnoticed wound on her inner thigh got severely infected. It's a good resource. They are a bit cranky, but I have found that if I am patient and pro-active I will be treated well. I'm sure they get a lot of hysterical people who are difficult to deal with, so they appreciate it when you are calm and give a clear explanation of what happened. My neighbor took his dog here after our dogs got in a fight. His dog was pretty torn up, so if this place wasn't available we would have been out of luck. They did a good job at stabilizing her until we could get her to her vet. If you go here, you are going to pay minimum $250. They charge a $75 emergency fee just for walking in the door. It's for emergencies only!

I can imagine no better way to recommend this clinic than to relate this story. When my cat was hit by a car right in front of me, I knew it was bad. Even though it was after business hours, I scooped her up and drove to the nearest place I rememberedseeing an "Animal Clinic"-type sign. Turns out they specialize in emergency care - the duty vet did the X-rays & diagnosis lightning fast, and managed to stabilize the internal ruptures & cracked vertebra. The next day she went to a full care clinic. It was a close-run thing, but two years later, she's just fine.
