Tasty, fast, cheap

by Jen C. | insider Insider | Rank: 13,857

No doubt, Sanam Luang is terrific for late-night Thai food. But vegetarians, beware: there's pork in them there greens. Make sure you ask very specific questions if you are on a meat-free diet! Good pad thai if you don't mind the uncertainty.

YUMMY

by A. S. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 5,751

I used to drive from Orange county to Sanam Luang Cafe, in Los Angeles at midnight just to eat Kao Mun Kai... They just remodel the restaurant recently... it used to be just a hole in the wall but .. no more holes... this place is so nice and cool.. and alot of time you will see movie stars here... The price is great, and they do give you alot of food (very good food)... you will love it...

PROS: SO GOOD, SO YUMMY
CONS: Nothing to compliant!!!

Best Thai Around

by Ed M. | insider Insider | Rank: 32,057

Great place--strange yet oddly transfixing neon-metallic decor, a huge and diverse menu (with things you won't see in most other Thai restaurants), and great prices. This is my only Thai stop in the valley. Hey, I ate there last night! Open until 4 a.m. most nights.

PROS: Great, diverse food, at great prices
CONS: Parking (but what else is new?)

This is a great Thai place, our favorite. It seems very authentic, one of the few Thai places that has a menu that really does consist almost entirely of Thai dishes, not disguised Chinese dishes. The portions are generous and it is pretty cheap. So far everything we have ordered has been good. Be forewarned: the decor isn't anything to write home about, parking is a disaster, and the neighborhood looks dicey enough that we only come for lunch, not dinner. But we still like it well enough that wedrive there regularly from the West Side, and take out-of-town guests there.
