This was another restaurant.com find. We just walked in with no reservations on a Saturday night and as busy as they were, we didn't have to wait too long for a table (we did have to sit outside though). I went with their Rustica pizze which I thought was alright. Nothing really stood out so I guess that's good and not so good. I'd like to try one of their pasta dishes the next time.
I happened to be driving by and everybody was hungry, the kids and myself are pizza lovers, this seemed like the place to go. Great pizza, nice place to dine and all were happy. Thanks guys and awesome food.
Pros: great food
Campagnola, nestled among the "eclectic" (er, not so good) choices along Westwood Blvd. is one of my favorites. It's warm and romantic with good, not so expensive food. The chef is excellent and the service is impeccable.
I highly recommend "Campagnola Trattoria Italiana Restaurant"... If your looking for a cozy, friendly and confortable place "Campagnola Trattoria Italiana Restaurant" is the place to be.. They're food prices are very affordable and best of all, they're delicious food and the great costumer service would make your dinner a special time to enjoy!!!
Pros: Great costumer service, Delicious food, great place to have a nice, romantic dinner..
Carlo, the owner, immediately greets you as you walk in the door and you know this place is special. Simple, but special. With a full bar, wine menu, and food menu, I was able to ask my questions directly to the owner for some great advice. He is from Sardinia, so there are several different Sardinian Specialty items on the menu, such as the Veremtino white wine (delicious) and the Fatti in Casa (homemade) pastas. I highly recommend these pastas and reading over the menu thoroughly because it all seemed delicious. Carlo helped me decide on a Sardinian specialty pasta which was incredible (but i forget the name of it). I've also had drinks and appetizers here on occasion which is nice too. They had a tapas menu to facilitate this. Overall, a nice place to eat if you want a mellow good place to have good food and enjoy your company.
Pros: Very friendly
This neighborhood trattoria, loved for 13 years, offers tremendous food at a good value. My recent lunch started with warm, homemade bread served with a tasty olive tapenade, followed by a crisp and delicious salad of lettuce, artichokes, chicken and vegetables with a light vinaigrette. My friend and I shared homemade biscotti over Italian coffee for dessert. Each course was light, flavorful, and authentic. I will definitely return. The service was welcoming and pleasant. In looking for a restaurant in this area I was puzzled by the polarized reviews of this place. I'm glad I tried it. Highly recommended!
My boyfriend took me here for a romantic dinner. The atmosphere was nice, but the service was quite inattentive. We barely saw our waiter. I wish he'd come back to ask how our food was because my seafood ravioli was gritty with sand. I assumed seafood ravioli would be filled with more than just clams, but it wasn't and it wasn't good. And the portion size was way too small for the $17 price tag (5 small raviolis). Our dessert wasn't good either. It's too bad because it's a cute restaurant. Although we liked our appetizer (caprese), it wasn't worth coming back for.
Pros: Ambience
Cons: Inattentive service, mediocre food
Went here with my girlfriend and was very impressed by the friendly service. They seemed to go out of their way to make sure I had a good dining experience. The steak was a bit plain, but everything else we had was excellent, including the waiter-recommended wine which wasn't on the list. The caprese was a perfect example of fresh ingredients and balanced taste. Good for a date, family or friends.
Pros: Fresh food, friendly and confident service, nice atmosphere
Cons: Steak was plain, everything else was bon!
hanno un mangiare buonissimo, il servizio e' perfetto, l'ambiente e' tranquillo, acogliente, sopratutto la sera, si ascolta buona musica, e il propietario e' una persona meravigliosa.
I brought a group of ten people to Campagnola Trattoria to celebrate my sisters' birthday. Everyone loved the food, the service was outstanding and very attentive, the wine list was very good. What more can you ask for?
Very friendly dining room, I love their tender "calamari fritti" acompanied with a glass of Orvieto, this place has become one of my favorites! Definitively I will go back.
Pros: Good service, reliable food, good variety of wines!
This place is a total rip (FYI- it should be rated $$ not $). The food is bad and the service is worse. Avoid!
I did not have an enjoyable meal at this restaurant. I felt it was overpriced, and portions small (it is pasta) but most importantly did not enjoy the taste of my meal. The sauce was pungent and the veal I was served seemed like it was overdue on it's experation. The others in my party were also very under-impressed with this restaurant.
The owner, Carlo, really makes the restaurant special. The fried calamari is my favorite. I also love the seafood and salads.
We have already thrown a couple work parties here. I never get tired of it!
Pros: Great Neighborhood, Friendly Atmosphere
Enjoy the friendly atmosphere for lunch, while at the same time it is a quaint place for a romantic evening for two.
Food is great. Love the new menu!
The bar was a great addition!
Pros: Inexpensive, Delicious food, Good selection
The owner works here, even during the lunch shift. I had veal with risotto and both were cooked to perfection. My dining partner also said his food was excellent. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. The only complaint is that service was a little slow considering it was lunch time and empty. Overall, this place is great!
Pros: Great Italian food
Cons: Parking
The food is delightful! Try the Veal Scallopini - the wines are excellent as well.
Carlo the owner of Campagnola serves up some great italian cuisine. He also has an extensive selections of wines. The food, service and environment are top notch!
Pros: food, food, food!
This is always amazing! We go all the time---it is affordable and amazing. The specials are the die for! Everytime that I go I always say that it was a better experience then the last. The service is amazing and there is a very homey feel to the restaurant. Go for a casual dinner before a movie or on a romantic date. My favorite in all of LA!
Pros: Inexpensive, Personable, Excellent food!
Wow --- Carlo's recipes will melt in your mouth. This little spot on Westwood will surely please any palette serving delectable Italian dishes with a Sardinia-spin (believe me, that's a good thing). Highly recommend this spot for those who want an elegant dinner without paying the price. Most dishes are around ten bucks.
Pros: Food, Full bar, Atmosphere
I ate at Campagnola for the first time last night, and I was so impresses. The quality of the food is fantastic. The risotto was expertly cooked, delicate. Lasagna is amazing. The owner Carlo is a very friendly man, and great to talk to. This is a perfect meal for a date, family dinner, or anytime. I will be back soon!
Pros: Food quality, Service and staff, Ambience
