Tekka Japanese Restaurant

I've been to Tekka three times so far and I've learned a few things.

- expect to wait an hour to ensure you get a seat
- make sure you go to happy hour before you wait in line because it's going to be cold
- don't come in a group bigger than 3(we got frown upon on our 3rd visit with a group of 5....we were actually told not to come in a group next time....yes the "sushi nazi of SF").
- order omakase if you don't know what to order.
- bring someone japanese with you so they can read the specials on the board.....also good if you don't know what to order.
- be prepared to eat fresh "melt in your mouth" fish that reminds you of what you had in Japan...did I mention each piece is so big that I need two bites to finish each one off.
- expect to drink a lot
- dinner will take 2+ hours so bring someone you like

The last two times, our bill was $50 and $70 respectively even though we ordered omakase both times. I have a feeling we've upset the sushi nazi on our last visit with our big group. No hard feelings here...we left there full, satisfied, and wanting more!

Oh yes I gave it 5 stars... I don't think I'll trick anyone by giving it 1 star.

I thought the fish was very very fresh and I really enjoyed this restaurant. The only downfall is the place is really small and it's first come first serve seating (13 seats). Therefore if you want to go you have to be there at 5:30pm to line up.
