I went to Yankee Doodles on 3rd street promenade last weekend and was amazed at how many beautiful SINGLE people there were! It's hard to meet people in this town and Yankee Doodles seemed to be loaded with possiblities. (It didn't hurt that the Video DJ kept the place going and the staff was also hot!) Good Times! ;O)
Pros: Lots to do!, Video DJ!, Hot people everywhere

I have been to a lot of bars and most of the time, only drunken patrons were the ones who were offensive. Well this time it was the manager. The bartender and the girl in-charge with the pool had to apologize for his unprofessional manner. He yelled at me for not paying the pool rental when in fact i opened a tab with my credit card at the bar. When the bartender explained what was going on, he was just plain unapologetic and arrogant. This guy is manager in the afternoon. I hope owners hear or read about this.
Cons: very rude manager, unprofessional manage

Love this place! The have pool tables, video games, air hockey and numerous TVs with sporting events. Draft beer prices are very reasonable and the food is pretty good. There are 2 floors to choose from, and finding a seat is not an issue. How can you go wrong?!
Pros: Lots of TVs, Good Prices, Excellent Atmosphere
Cons: Slow Service

This is a great after hours spot. Yankee doodle's is especially cool if your just looking for a somehting to do on Friday night. The crowd is usually mixed and plays a good variety of music. However, they do tend to be sticker's about enforcing a dress code, so if your not wearing casual dress they may give you a hard time.

We were shopping on 3rd Street and stopped in for some lunch. I've been here before to watch games. Yankee Doodles is great if you want to watch sports. This is the first time we ate here. The food was good! I had a chicken sandwich. After lunch were shoot some pool and had a fun time. This place is more than a sports bar - food and pool also.

Perhaps it the location, but I can't take this place seriously. A little too commerical for my taste. They have many screens and tons of tables downstairs, but the crowd seems to mainly consist of tourists. Food is okay - passable for bar food.

I went to Yankee Doodles to watch Lakers' final game. I went there because I saw it on Citysearch's top 10 list. I felt I've been cheated. The place sucks. Compare to Fox Sports at Irvine this place is so quiet, nobody cheers on anything, everybody just mind their own business. also Fox sports don't need to charge $5 coverage fee, and no $15 min expense per person rule. In general I won't come back to this place again.
Pros: Parking, Huge
Cons: , Quiet, Expensive

Was at Yankee Doodles for the last Laker game of the season. Great game and great place to watch. Tons of big screens and beer specials. Plus , there were Lakers girls there!
Would recommend it highly for watching all the playoffs games!
Pros: great crowd, good food, inexpensive

If nothing else, Yankee Doodle serves it's purpose: Bar food, TV's, alcohol, pool, Golden Tee, air hockey, foosball, arcade basketball, video games. The problem, though, is that the service is so frustratingly inconsistent, ranging from, well, unremarkable to down-right rude. Ask a manager to put a particular event on one of the 40+ TV's, and you're as likely to get ignored as you are to get denied. Add to that their use of "special event" (read: higher) pricing for things like the world series, and you get a sense your less a patron and more a source of revenue.
Pros: Huge, Plenty to Do, Downstairs Bar
Cons: Unfriendly Service, Sub-Par Food, Unfriendly Service

When you see Yankee Doodles on 3rd Street, my recommendation is to keep on walking...I know there's better places to eat on 3rd street besides this place. i went for a late lunch on a weekday. there wasnt a lot of people there, but for how long we waited for our food, you would've thought that it was a busy, friday night. by the time the food came, it was just more disappointment. there wasnt a large selection of food to choose from. we ordered calamari for appetizer, then fish & chips and a philly cheesesteak for entrees. they were all horrible. it was comparable to dennys, maybe worse considering the price. it was also service without a smile.
Cons: bland food, bad service
