Pros: free saki mon-fri

Cons: terrible service for people of color!!!!

.

The sushi is really good, especially the lunch specials. They're really worth your buck! They've just changed their menu, so they have all sorts of maki-sushi and sashimi.

Lunch time is usually crowded (since it's a pretty good deal). You can sit at the bar for the sushi, or sit at a table to order other items.

They also have a small secluded area for large employee groups.

Sushi Boat Town is located in the same mall as Nob Hill Foods at the intersection of Chantilly Lane and Santa Teresa BLVD, near Bernal RD in San Jose. I don't remember ever having to wait long for a table, but have noticed that's not the case on busy nights for people who want to sit at the sushi boat bar.

Their menu is varied and reasonably priced. There's always something to also appeal to people who are not fond of sushi. I've ordered from both the menu and sushi bar and am never disappointed.

Their friendly service, can be somewhat sporadic, at times, probably due to the large variety of menu items and different preparation times involved. Staff in front are quick to greet newcomers and also farewells to departing patrons.

Expect to rarely receive the appetizer before your main course. I don't understand why this seems to be the norm, but in all the time we've gone there, it has come to be a running joke. It would be nice to be informed if there's going to be a delay. Sometimes they forget to bring it at all.

The lighting in the restaurant is the brightest I've ever encountered in a restaurant, so I usually like wearing sunglasses to help tone it down a bit. The television above the bar gives the place more of a neighborhood "bar" feeling and seems somewhat out of place. Personally, I prefer the booth seating over the tables due to the high traffic that's coming and going from the kitchen.

I recommend this place for everyday dining or very small gatherings on special occasions.

the food is fresh and the presentation is fantastic the staff is eager to take your order and the drink are bottomless, however, when they are busy the organization is questionable and there is no register so you have to wait for them to get to you

Great place for lunch. Love thier bento boxes. I am not really a big sushi fan so their chicken teriyaki is a favorite. Prices are reasonable as well. Must try their fried crab appetizer dish which is my kids favorite as well.

The good is ok, but not great! The food took 20 minutes longer then they said it would take. I order a Caterpillar Roll and a Las Vegas Roll. I couldn't finish eating it (which says a lot for people who love to eat sushi) & the eel in the Catapiller Roll had a slight fish taste. A previous time I was at this restauant, I tried fish eggs for the first time. They were so disgusting. It was like fish salt had burst in my mouth. The next time I tried them, at another sushi restaurant in the area, they were so delicious & was more importantly, not fishy tasting. The location is so close to my home, which makes it very tempting when I'm running arrons all day with my kids. But next time, I'm just going to take the extra 5 minutes & drive to a really good sushi restaurant.

This restaurant is very decent. Food is definitly great, service is perfect, and the boats were very cool! If you are going here for a romantic dinner, don't go. It's great for kids and doesn't get too crowded if you come early.

Pros: Sushi, Service, Seating, and most of all, the best!

Cons: Ambience

.

This is the best sushi I've tasted in the Bay Area. The ambience is a bit lacking and the service isn't all that great (beware when visiting on weekends!), but the sushi more than makes up for it.
