We love Siamese Basil! Everything is delicious. Our favorite is the tom yum gai soup, yellow curry, and won tons. That's our go-to. You have the option to get it as spicy or not spicy as you'd like, and just know that anything over 5 is

One of the few places open past 9pm, Siamese Basil is a small intimate restaurant with excellent Thai food at affordable prices. Their fresh spring rolls are unfried morsels of healthy deliciousness. Especially with the scrumptious peanut sauce they come with. The staff is really friendly. I like that you can in fact walk through the kitchen to get to the parking lot out back. Every time I do it, no matter how busy the cooks are, they're all really polite and make way for you with smiles on their faces. That said, their food must be made with love.

Siamese Basil has great food! It's a great casual place, but is clean and the food is great. The Tom Ka soup is very good to start off, and so are their Thai iced teas!

What i love about this place is that you can have it any way you want (spicy-wise) it on a scale of 1-10! I have 3 and my husband has 8 and we both love it. We arrive early on weekends because its so popular the lines can run long!

Pros: chicken curry

Cons: crowded on weekends

I enjoy Thai food, and this that this is the best place to get it in Encinitas, bar non.
If you haven't tried it, may I recommend the pad thai as a safe option. If you would like to live a little, try the green curry, which is made with coconut milk and has basil in it.
For desert, try the mango with sticky rice, it's oddly refreshing.
Can't come here enough!

This is one of my favorite restaurants ever, the curry is thick and fantastic. They also let you decide how spicy you want it on a 1-10 scale which I very much appreciate, the pad thai is excellent, yummy thai iced tea and coffee. They also offer a delicious flavorful brown rice as well as white. Nothing is too tangy, everything always tastes fresh, there's rarely a wait, and the staff is very friendly. Make sure to get the chicken curry when you go!

Unfortunately I live over in Santa Monica, but every so often when I head down to San Diego I ALWAYS eat dinner at Siamese Basil! They have the best Tom ka gui (sp?) (its a coconut soup with lemon grass, mushrooms and chicken) soup in California! and their spicy rating scale is no joke. If you happen to drop by, also try their pineapple fried rice (which is served in a hollowed out pineapple!)

My favourite restaurant in America. Great servers who have been there for years, a large menu and wonderful daily specials. Even those wary of Thai or spicy food will find something they like. I recommend the pineapple tofu curry. Small floor area, often there is a waiting list but worth the wait every time.

This is a wonderul Thai restaurant with consistently great-tasting food in downtown Encinitas. The staff is always very friendly and they always go out of their way to accomodate our needs with a baby and now toddler.

The food is always excellent and you have your choice of how spicy you want it. The porttions are good-sized, but we always order 1 entree still perperson, so that we can take home the leftovers.

It is a small restaurant, with about 12 tables, some small and some for larger parties. There is no real waiting space, so if you're going to be there at dinnertime, plan and dress accordingly for a short wait outside.
