I have been eating at Gungadin for 25 years,
from the beginning of the restaurant. My eating
at Gungadin has been very satisfying everytime.
The spices, the textures, the fragrances, the tastes
that titillate the tongue and taste buds.
And Gangadin is fun. The masterful host, Manmeet,
is very entertaining and great to converse with.
Prices are fair. Enjoy the chicken tikka, saag paneer, daal
fresh veges etc. I love the garlic naan.

Gangadin is a short walk from my apartment in Studio City. This is, hands down, the best Indian food in Los Angeles. Their Chicken Tikka Masala is out of this world good and they have a number of vegetarian dishes that make it difficult to decide which dish should be the companion to our Chicken Tikka.

They also have a brown basmati rice that has recently been added to their menu. This makes their food a bit more healthy and the rice is delicious.

I absolutely, 100% recommend Gangadin!

My husband and I have been going to Gangadin for nearly 20 years. Their food is fantastic! If you like REAL Indian food GO!

The atmosphere is quiet, relaxing and we love this place.

I recommend the Onion Pakooras, Chicken Tikka which absolutely melts in your mouth, Garlic Naan, Lamb Vindaloo - this is spicy, but really great, Bharta - I love this eggplant dish. Finish off with Mango ice cream!

This is not a cheap restaurant, but if you just have dinner (no drinks) I believe it is pretty reasonable maybe $12 - $15 per person depending on how hungry you are.

The problem is there are so many delicious choices you want to try everything.

This is a Sikh owned (the Indian men who wear turbans) restaurant on tiny Ventura Place (which runs in-between Laurel Canyon & Ventura Blvd.) that serves northern Indian cuisine.

The naan bread is great, as is the tandori chicken & of course the curries, the yogurt & cucumber dip. Karhai Gosht ($9.95) is a stew of tender chunks of lamb that had been stir fried in a wok with North Indian spices

This is a small, unpretentious restaurant that has been open for 23 years... good service & reasonably priced.
Linen table cloths & lilies adorn the tables.

A quiet respite.
