this is a cool bar to go to downtown with your friends. on wednesday nights they have really cheap drinks so it is always pretty busy on that night. THey have a little sitting area in the back with couches and you can play darts as well.

I like monkey bar because they have cheap and tasty drinks and the atmosphere is kind of funky and fun. However, it is always too crowded and noisy. It is a terrible place for groups and the parking is really limited.

This bar is overrated and disappointing. Trendy to the uneducated and desperate. If you like to mingle with a deadbeat crowd then this is place for you. The lack of room forces individuals to be herded like cattle onto a small outside patio. Access to the bathroom is very difficult. It might be great to those who have never step foot outside of Sacramento, but a huge disappointment for those who truly enjoy good, fun, entertaining bars. Pros: Inexpensive, Booth Seating, No Cover

Cons: No music, slow service, lack of room

Not a good spot to take a date, let alone a first date. The people are too many, the noise is too much and the service is too slow. May be a good spot to hang out and meet some interesting folks, albeit trendy and overrated.

Small place and can get crowded fast, but a very popular bar with the local party people

Drinks are dirt cheap and pack a punch. Pretty good DJs on weekends

Nice place to take out of towners

The Monkey Bar has become a midtown staple. They have added a late night menu on Fridays and Saturdays as well as DJs on certain nights of the week. Don't forget about visiting the Monkey in the mornings too! Pull up a chair at the bar, grab a paper, some eggs and a bloody mary and you're good to go! Would highly recommend a better sound system, that's my only complaint!
