Over the past couple of years, I've taken a Maxima, Lexus, and Galant to Stearns Alliance on Stearns and Cochran in Simi Valley for gas (not a few dollars here and there - I fill up all three cars). When I noticed the air was low in one of my tires, I stopped there for air. The price of the air was scratched off, so I went into the store to ask how much it was. When the owner told me it would be 75 cents, I told him I thought that was too much and explained that I simply needed a little bit of air in one tire. He asked me if I was going to purchase gas, and I replied I didn't need any as I already had a full tank. He then asked where I usually purchase my gas and I told him I always purchase from his facility. He then told me that maybe I could go to another gas station and they might give me air for free. In disbelief, I proceeded to the Mobil station across the street, and not only was the air 50 cents over there, the owner allowed me to get the air for free. Thing is, I never get my gas from Mobil, but the owner didn't seem to mind. After getting "free" air from Mobil, I went back to Stearns and explained to the owner that I usually bring all three of my cars to him for gas, and then told him that the Mobil owner across the street allowed me to get the air for free. He replied "good - then take all of your cars over there". I will gladly fill up my cars elsewhere! It's hard to believe that this jerk would rather lose the kind of business I was bringing him, over 75 cents worth of air that costs him nothing!
