Come enjoy great food in a warm and friendly environment for both lunch and dinner seven days a week in addition to four nights of amazing late night music
Cafe Cordiale's menu is not enormous, but the quality of the food is excellent. The restaurant has daily live entertainment and can really become packed, so if you are planning on eating during those peak times, make a reservation. This is a good restaurant for a date, and has a full bar with a nice selection of suggested cocktails.

Cafe Cordiale offers not only a sophisticated and soothing atmosphere, but I've found the food to be consistently delicious and the service unbeatable--both for lunch and dinner. There is always soft music playing in the background and they even feature live jazz on a regular basis. My party is always greeted warmly by the manager and we have yet to have anything other than a wonderful dining experience. As a side note, the holiday decorations--no matter what the holiday might be--are absolutely beautiful. This is a perfect choice for lunch, dinner, or even just a glass of wine.

First, please refer to my review down there at the bottom: "Posted 05/20/03 at 12:09am" That's me...and I assure you that the comments about the manager are baseless. First, you must understand that Cafe Cordiale is extremely popular and has the unique distinction of offering live music, without a cover. So I hope it's no surprise that on a Friday night, it would be insane for a restaurant manager to seat a party of ten until the entire group arrived. Anyone expecting otherwise is both unreasonable and deluded. Also, my wife and I have been going to Cafe Cordiale since its original incarnation in the mid-80's and Peter always shakes my hand upon arrival. Finally, I'm savvy enough to realize that if my group is large, our server is now handling 2-3 times the normal number of guests per table...I'd give 17% without thinking about it. So, drop in any night, ask any regular what they think, and prepare to hear non-stop praise.

This restaurant is good, but not great. It is expensive, and not kid friendly. The menu has a different choices, but not enough for the uncertain. Not a great deal.

Peter has absolutly no concept of customer satisfaction.
He is void of sensitivity to others.
He is the rudest jackoff ever in this kind of business.
If you spend money in Cafe Cordiale your a fool.

My friends and I made a reservation for a party of ten to have dinner and enjoy music on a recent Friday night. The manager refused to seat us until all the party was assembled making it necessary to hang around the bar. Once everyone had arrived we were told we could not have separate checks. In all, this would have totalled 3 checks. Instead we were forced at the end of the meal to tally up what each party owed. The manager said had he known we'd insist on separate checks, he would NOT have taken our reservation. The food was very good, and very expensive given the attitude of the manager and our server. Our server wrote a note at the end of our check that we owed him a minimum tip. That tip was well over the 17% that we were told was mandatory during a dinner show. Cordiality is in short supply at Cafe' Cordiale.

I've eaten here many times. Never a disappointment. The food is SUPERB. The service is great. The prices are incredibly reasonable. The choices on the menu, too. And the desserts! OH!
It does get a bit loud on the live-music nights, but there is seating outdoors, too.
Pros: great atmosphere, Fantastic food, great prices

Cafe Cordiale has to be the best live music spot in what most people call The Valley, but what I like to call, "The Ventura Corridor." Great social scene mixed with regulars at the bar. Food is excellent, but be sure to get there early if you want to be there for the band!
Pros: Great Live Music Spot, Good Food, Good Bar Spot
Cons: Can get crowded, a bit expensive

We just moved to the valley and were looking for a local place to "hang our hat." This place is everything the other reviews said it was, nice atmosphere but not pretentious, great food, great service - and yes the owner does walk around and seat you/shakes your hand. We went early (baby at home, babysitter = $$) so we were with the "twilight" crowd but upon exiting around 8:30pm a younger more diverse crowd were entering. We will definately be going back to this place. Great wine selections and priced nicely. You can also eat/drink at the bar. Very convenient and comfortable with good food! It's perfect for families (if you go early) and perfect for a night life as well, later in the evening.
Pros: Affordable, Great Food, Free Parking
