This place was filthy with a B rating. Food is overpriced for the quality, $7 for 3 tacos and I could have had better out of a taco truck. Menu is confusing and hard to read. Bathroom is creepy and unisex. And we got to enjoy all of this to a dude playing flute. If I wanted to listen to flute I'd put on some Jethro Tull. Neighborhood is scary as well with homeless drunk people walking up and down the street (but I guess that's LA for you).

This place is funky to the max. It fits right in with this eclectic neighborhood and reminds me of my days living in San Francisco. It has a lot of great menu items and is often busy so be prepared to have to wait a bit for your meal.

Near the corner of Temple St. and Union Ave. sits the Tribal Cafe - a hub for the local independent arts scene. Say hello to Joshua, the Filipino American owner of the establishment, and ask him about their adobo sandwich.

Wanna experience what I have? We'll I just make tribal cafe the place where I can unwind and be myself. The ambiance makes me love more the place. How would you really know if you've never been there? Its just one of the best vegetarian coffee shop right at the heart of an echo park. You can enjoy the wonderful music with the whole family. Its like a coffee shop rolled into one great place where musicians, poets, writers, artist are given the chance to do their own thing. Oh how sweet it is to impart our own thinking and share to everybody in the place or probably just listen to the melody while seeping fresh juices and smoothies. Check this out for yourself! I swear, you'll keep coming back for more excitements!

I love this place. It reminds me of being at hippie college..in a good way. The man who works there is sweet as can be. The menu is huge and it is all healthy. There are lots of vegan and vegetarian options. And they make all sorts of neat juice drinks. There is hardly anyone there so you'll find a seat. There is even a couch and a bookshelf so you can go alone and just hang. Even an old computer in the back to check your email. It takes a little while to get your food but you find yourself not minding because the guy puts a lot of care into what he makes. Everything tasted really fresh and I didn't feel the slightest bit of a food hangover, either. Everyone I take there loves it.

Pros: fresh and quality food, nice people, easy parking

Cons: takes a little while to get food sometimes
