Hamlet knows his business. He has it all: Blu-ray, current titles, older films, classics, foreign titles, independents. He and his employees know the movies and they know the clients. It's a fantastic local resource.

Great selection of the oldies, classics, obscure, favorite videos and DVD's. Oh, yeah, they have the new releases too, but that's not why I go there. You can reserve a video/DVD for a specific date. Very good rental prices and they sell a few oldies too. Sure the store's a bit old and a little ratty looking, but that just compliments the display of great old movies. While you're looking for a favorite, you'll find another movie you've only just heard about and always wanted to see. I live in Pasadena and happily make the extra trek to LCF to rent from this store.

this video store is the other main video rental store in my city besides blockbuster. We always went here though because of the super cheap rentals compared to blockbuster. The only problems that I can see now are the competitveness of the online movie places. Also, for new releases, you can only rent movies out for a day or two. The service people are nice, I actually know most of them because most of them were student workers.

I love getting all of my rentals from this little store. The folks behind the counter are helpful and knowledgable (most days you will even see the owner himself back there). The fees are comparable to the BIG chains with one exception-if ever you have a problem with your rental, bring it back and you get a free rental!! Another added bonus to using this store- you can reserve a movie for any day (once it has been released) and they call you when it is available.
PROS:
CONS: Parking is in a small lot so Fri/Sat nights can be kinda tricky

La Canada Video may appear to not meet your needs, especially since across the street is a huge Blockbuster, but I'm here to say that it will! How can you pass up a locally owend business for Big Brother? LC Video's prices are better, their late fees are better and they are just plain nice. The movie selection is great and it has always been where my family rents from. We wouldn't dream of going anywhere else but our local video store. With Round Table Pizza just a couple doors down....your Friday and/or Saturday night is set with a movie and dinner. No need to cross the street!
