Wonderful vegetarian food  5 Star Rating - World class

By M A. | top100 Top 100 Reviewer | Rank: 63

I've only been here once on a visit to San Francisco, but the food was great and even my meat eater friends liked it. Lots of chinese-style "meat" + vegetables in thick sauce eaten with rice - yum.

Incredilbe cuisine  5 Star Rating - World class

Golden Era restaraunt does cater especially to vegetarians, as well as vegans, but can certainly be enjoyed by the casual meat eater. The dishes all resemble carniverous fare, but there is not a morsel of meat to be found. The food is incredible, and the buddha bun is a great choice. Atmosphere, and staff are quite pleasant. Highly recommended.

Golden Era Vegetarian Restaurant  5 Star Rating - World class

Great little restaurant in San Francisco - this Golden Era Vegetarian Restaurant is. I reallu enjoy all the appetizers and usually that is what I order with friends - a table full of apetizers. they are not too light, a little greesy but oh so good. I've actually never ordered a dinner dish there yet - appetizers all the way

great vegetarian options!  4 Star Rating - Very good

By amabelle s. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 10,685

I really love sweet and sour chicken and dishes like that, but since becoming a vegetarian, I have been deprived of it. Golden Era has supplied me with vegetarian options that taste very much like the real thing! The waitstaff isn't very sociable, and the ambiance leaves a bit to be desired, but if you're looking for a filling, inexpensive, vegetarian meal, Golden Era's a good choice.

PROS: inexpensive, vegetarian food
CONS: low-key
