Fresh Mexican

Gilbert's is a great mexican neighborhood restaurant. I think their food is excellent. The Fernando's burrito and the vegetarian burritos are awesome!

Great Food

by Anonymous

Gilberts is a reliable great Mexican meal. I love those pickled carrots while you wait, the drinks are good, the chips fresh. Authentic food at a good price. This is a restaurant you want to bring the whole family to. Come early, there is a long wait if you don't.

Fantastic Mexican Food!

by Ninja G. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 9,409

I am a huge fan of mexican food & this is by far one of my favorite places! The food is delicious- I highly recommend the cheese enchiladas & beef tacos. And you can't beat the prices. If you really want a deal order the "mini super special burrito". My friend gets it everytime & for about $6.50 you get the biggest burrito you've ever seen. The margaritas are strong & the staff is always warm & friendly. Only one drawback- they only take cash. Other than that, can't recommend Gilbert's enough!

PROS: Delicious food, cheap prices, friendly staff
CONS: Only accept cash

YUMM

by Mandi B. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 285

Best Mexican food i have had in ages. I got the small super burrito and it was not SMALL it was huge but oh so good. I usually can't eat that much Mexican food but it was great shredded chicken, avocado, rice, beans, cheese. Loved it also they had good chips and salsa and of course margaritas. It was packed in there but it didn't take long to get a table. Loved it!

Burritos Bigger Than Your Head

by Andrew S. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 745

I have actually measured Gilbert's El Indio's burritos and they are in fact bigger than your head, or at least my head. Gilbert's is a fine place to get your standard Mexican fare for a reasonable price. The place is dimly lit so if you are looking to escape the daylight this is where you'll want to be. The best part is the hot pickled carrots they serve and the very fresh tortilla chips. Muy bueno.

This is the most funky little joint. It has the best Mexican food I have ever had. The Margaritas are sensational. The folks that run the place are amazing nice and make you feel right at home. If you haven't been there...GO! Gets really busy in the evening but it is worth the wait...besides you can have a Margarita while you wait for a seat!
