1 Stars: How does this place stay in business? (by J F.)

If everyone in Berkeley knew just a little bit about computers this place would go out of business. The prices they charge for some of the oldest computers and parts you'll ever find are exorbitant. I would have to recommend buying a new eMachine system over the old, used computeres they sell. They also offer dial-up service but that is also priced very expensively. So, if you're looking to save money on computer parts and don't want computers of ages ago, do yourself a favor and avoid this place and just hit up radio shack a few blocks away.

PROS: employees seem somewhat knowledgeable about computers
CONS: over priced old computer stuff

1 Stars: Terrible. Inside and out. (by Earl R.)

Going into this place, you will find a lot of antiquated and obsolete computer equipment commanding EXTREMELY high prices. There is nothing spectacular about this place at all. Most of what can be found here can be found on eBay for SIGNIFICANTLY less than they sell it for at this store. The inside of this place reminds one of an unfinished factory and the outside of this place reminds one of a sloppy brick shack. I find it amusing that everything is overpriced here, and there is nothing that one would not be able to find at a major computer store for much less.

This place preys on emergency computer needs from nearby students. There is nothing much in the way of good to say about this store. Stay away at all costs.

PROS: None
CONS: Extremely expensive, ugly, inventory

3 Stars: What they all said (by Peter O.)

Having agreed about their high prices, I'm in a emergency and they have what I need. The only other option was going to SanJo to save a few bucks. Capitalism at its finest.

3 Stars: OK for certain purposes (by Mary P.)

I agree with the other two reviews, one should be careful going in here because some of the prices are high for used stuff. However, I went in here looking for a particular kind of power cord that I was having trouble finding elsewhere, and they happened to have it, so I was really happy, and I don't think the price was unreasonable. It's good for that kind of thing. I also like the idea of buying things used rather than buying more new stuff and letting the old stuff go into landfills. So even if the discount isn't great, you're doing a good deed buy buying used stuff!
