Pratte John Dds

I went to Dr. Pratte expecting to have an unwanted root canal. He had the integrity to say the procedure was avoidable if I took certain measures, and asked me to call him in a few days to report in or make an appointment for surgery. I avoided the pain, possible complications and expense of that "excavation," and Dr. Pratte ethically charged me only for an office visit and when he could have proceeded to perform a lucrative but unnecessary surgical procedure.

Dr. Pratte was recommended by my dentist for a root canal and needless to say, I was very apprehensive after reading the two negative reviews on this site. I found Dr. Pratte and his staff are friendly, professional and compassionate. As he performed the procedure he explained everything and asked me how I was feeling. Most of all, the process was painless and I went to work afterwards. He recommended Tylenol for pain, but if I needed something stronger, to call and he would phone in a prescription into my pharmacy. I have no reservations recommending Dr. Pratte.

I was referred to Dr Pratte for an emergency root canal, and I didn't have to wait. He saw me and did the procedure the same day. The procedure went very well, I felt no pain whatsoever, and I am very happy with the results.

Dr Pratte is very conscientious and thorough, which is what I want in a dentist. He explained everything about the root canal and answered all of my questions very patiently, even though it was late in the day and I had an unscheduled visit. I don't care that he's not particularly jokey or gregarious. He did seem to genuinely care about saving my tooth-- and he did a great job.

i saw doctor pratte about a root canal that had to be redone. When i got there my first response to him was that he seemed very dull and unhappy( by the end i was right ). He started the root canal and spent over an hour, couldnt find it ( had xray done earleyer that day that clearly showed the absess ) when it came time to rescheadule another appointment to try to find it again , i asked him about getting something to help the pain, he told me that aleve would work perfectly fine, he says he refuses to prescribe people vicoden, pain releiver etc. When the next appointment came around he still couldnt find it and still didnt help my pain. wanted to try again but left. Went to dr. sosa in van nuys , he found it in 20 minutes did great work and prescribed some vicoden to help the pain:) dont go see dr pratte unless you want him to empty your wallet and leave you hurting

I hate root canals. But, I have had 4 and would never see anyone other than Dr. Pratt.
He is a real jewel, thorough, professional and compassionate. I highly recommend him if you need oral surgery

I have had to see Dr. Pratte on four separate occasions to repair shoddy root canal jobs done by another endodontist in the valley. He is efficient, professional, and quick! True, a root canal is never pleasant, but he made it very bearable. I recommend him highly.

Dr. Pratt is a great oral surgeon. My regular dentist recommended him when I needed a root canal procedure to be redone, and I was really satisfied with his work. Everyone says root canals are extremely painful, but I didnt find that to be the case with Dr. Pratt. He and his staff seem very experienced and knowledgeable, which makes me comfortable with their work. I felt that I got fair prices too, considering I dont have dental insurance. I would highly recommend seeing Dr. Pratt for any oral surgery needs.
