My experience with the service dept was very bad. The factory recall repairs caused major problems and major anxiety because they made our van's brakes lock up and the vehicle to stall blocks from the dealer. Had to bring it back, hoping they fix it and hoping there is no damage.

I took my Honda to Stockton Honda for its very first oil change/ maintenance since purchasing the vehicle 3 months ago. I anticipated the wait to be a while and planned for a friend to pick me up while my car was being worked on. I pulled into the service driveway and was directed to see Matt inside the service center so that he could begin paperwork for the oil change; I let him know that i wasn't planning on sticking around and he said this was OK, they are open until 6:30pm. He seemed like a very nice young man, very cleaned cut and respectable compared to some other characters walking around with Honda shirts on. Immediately after the paperwork was all signed, Matt reassured me that my car would be just fine and that he would give me a call when the maintenance was completed. I left the dealership feeling great about the service my car was going to receive (yes, the car is new).2 hours later, I had not received a call from Matt or the service department, so I decided to head down to the dealership, assuming my car was done with its maintenance. All the while, during the wait, I realized that the 40 dollars cash I put into my middle console, I failed to grab before I left the car. I put this cash in the middle console RIGHT BEFORE I dropped off my car. I thought to myself "The money will be fine, Its Honda that I'm dealing with and nothing would ever happen to my personal belongings.. It'll be fine" that was the one confident thought I had to myself and didn't worry a moment more. I really wish I had. When I returned to the dealership and paid for the oil change, I talked with Matt for a while about some upgrades that i wanted to do to the car and explained that my partner and I don't really want anyone else working on the car unless it's Honda (our other cars are a Mercedes and Cadillac, we're used to only working with dealerships). There is a reason for that, TRUST. Hurrying home to a dinner be held there, when i parked in the driveway, I immediately went for the middle console to grab my money, but only to find that it was GONE! My heart dropped and I found nothing more to be upsetting than to have to leave this dinner due to the inconvenience of Honda and the trust they ruined. I went back to the service department and asked Matt who serviced my car. I explained to him about the money and how it was there before I dropped the car off and how i discovered the money was missing.. long story short, I didn't get my money, I never met the Service Manager or General Manager face to face to discuss what happened, was asked to right a statement about my money and given two business cards, one being the GM and the other being the Service Managers, they would call me Monday. I was appalled to find that Matt was the only manager on duty and that he was only the assistant. I explained to him that something needed to happen quick. I explained to him that I too am a customer service manager and that this procedure he was following was diminishing my respect for Honda, let alone my trust. There was not alot he could do.. I understood and left.I am not happy about Honda's behavior and i would never recommend anyone to purchase a vehicle from them. When you invest in a car, I strongly believe that you too invest in the quality of service you'll receive. Regardless if some say "you shouldn't have left money in your car", the fact remains, your car will be browsed through. That is very violating when you know you cannot leave your belongings in your own vehicle while being serviced. I'm curious to know if Honda even does a criminal background check on their employees. Whether they do or don't, I wont be going back and wouldn't recommend anyone leaving their vehicle to be serviced with Stockton Honda.

When I went to Stockton Honda, I was looking at cars and a very nice sales rep came and told me about the classifications. After I told him I was just looking, he kept following me around. I then told them that if I decide to buy I would go directly to him for the purchase. He later left and then another person came, his manager. It was very aggrevating.
