I had Bonney Plumbing install an electric water heater at my county farm home in Solano CountyOct 2012 and a gas water heater in my rental in Dixon, CA on Feb 2012. Work looks good however, the contractor charged for the required permits but never filed them, they pocketed the money which was overcharged. I went to county filed a complant and was told I was responsible that the permit was obtained. Filed a complaint with District Attorney and was told no action unless 4-5 complaints. City has no complaint forms or concern.if seems. Bonney charged $163 and permit was only $39, County was $119 but Bonney charged $150.So if Bonney says and advertizes that that care of all the permits so do not be concerned, better check on them. The State Licensing Board had me submit two claims and will investigate. The State Assemblyman for this district says will look at law and review it as contractor seems to have found a way to fill their pockets. cheat the customer, and the cities and counties. So do not believe all you are told, Bonney owner sent me a letter and a check to take care of my inconvience. I said what about all the other permits your office said was not being processed and he said that my permits were pulled and I should not be concerned about others. So be carefull with Bonney Pluming and A/C you can be fined for not getting the required permit.

I have been using Bonney for over 20 years, and the consistently great attitude and professional prowess puts them lightyears ahead of the closest business. They really have no competition. I had mainly used them for new toilet installs, and hot water heaters, but after installing a two-floor air conditioning and heating project, they really met every challenge by making sure it was done right before they left. ALL of their employees are nice, well-dressed, and friendly, while still maintaining the highest goals of customer service. I know of no business, including my own, that exemplifies excellence like Bonney.

$150 - $7000 - in estimated costs
$30,000 a month quota per technician -

In August our main sewer line backed up. It's and old clay pipe line. I called Bonney Plumbing and a tech was sent out. For $150 he snaked the line, roots were pulled out and he was able to unclog the line. He suggested video taping the line at a cost of $250 to see exactly what and where the problem was. I declined. He estimated $1200 - $5000 to repair and or replace. He said with roots in the line he guaranteed it would clog again within the next 3 months. He also said Bonney Plumbing has a 30 day warranty on their work.

Three weeks later the line had backed up again. Another Bonney tech came out. After several attempts to unclog the line, he could not get the line cleared. He estimated $2500 - $7000 to repair and or replace. He then determined where the problem area was and said he would be back early the next morning to dig it up and do a "spot repair" at the cost of $3600. Uuugghh! we thought! A spot repair would only take care of the immediate problem and not solve the problem for good. We did not want a piece meal job with other problems later. The tech seemed anxious and eager to get started.

We mentioned that we had read reviews (after the first tech came out) of Bonney being expensive. He said, "Ya, we're a bit pricey." He also told us that the company "requires each technician to meet a $30,000 quota each month." He said he wanted to start his own plumbing company someday and undercut BONNEY.

RED FLAGS! RED FLAGS!

The next morning I called and cancelled the tech coming out. SO GLAD I DID! I then called two other plumbing contractors. One quote was $3400 for a whole new trenchless sewer line including cleanouts. The other quote was $2900 for the same thing.

The real plumbers came out and after 10 minutes they had the line unclogged. Something Bonney Plumbing was unsuccessful at doing.
In the end we had a whole 80 foot trenchless sewer line installed in a day including cleanouts for $2900.

AVOID BONNEY PLUMBING!!!!! They will milk you for your money!

We called this company for a simple sink clog repair. The technician never showed up, and when we called to complain that no one had materialized, they were actually annoyed that we requested another tech be sent to complete the appointment. The phone staff repeatedly assured us (over a four hour period) that the tech would ""be there in fifteen minutes."" This company not only wasted critical work time, but was completely unprofessional and quite rude. We will never use their services again under any circumstance.

Not a good service. Had to change out the fuse to the air conditioner. Bonney replaced with the WRONG fuse. No...I did not call them back. If Bonney cant even do a simple job the first time around, there is NO way I want them to re-do or re-fix their mistake. Cant be trusted. I asked around for my neighbors' experience. One neighbor is PISSED at Bonnie for charging thousands on a job also not well done.

Called Bonnie plumbing as I had an unknown leak that I thought was under my raised floor area. I had shut off the water to the house and removed all standing water in through the crawl space under my home. As soon as the plumber arrived, he said there was no way he was going under the home to inspect. Yes it was wet, however he did not seem like he wanted to get dirty. The plumber never diagnosed the issue and performed a pressure test without my authorization. I was left with a $65 dollar charge for a trip charge and pressure test. Called management twice and never called back!!

We had the same problem after 24 hours that Bonney claimed that it has been fixed. We called numerous times but can't get helped. Finally asked for one of the owners. Finally reached the wife but she said, ""she has too many other things to take care of so she needs to refer me to her husband"". The husband sent another plumber but the plumber can't fxi the problem. Company trying to charge $700 for a new toilet. Left several messages to owner but has not returned my call or reimburse my money.

My hot water heater went out on a mid Friday. PG&E was not only unsympathetic that I had 2 small children, they insisted the earliest someone can come by to fix my water heater would be the following Thursday which would have left us without hot water for almost a week in this cold weather! I immediately remembered an ad for Bonney Plumbing and called them. One of the owners answered the phone, and she was extremely warm yet professional to talk to! I explained my situation to her, and she said a guy was just coming out of his lunch break and will be there right away. A very friendly and upbeat serviceman came within 20 minutes of that phone call and fixed my water heater in 15 minutes! The service from the initial phone call to the completion of the job took less than 45 minutes! Unbelievable service, extreme empathy towards their customers needs, excellent response time, and very professional yet comfortable and friendly employees all in one business! They were amazing in every aspect. Most highly recommended!

Imagine this: Your kid flushes a toy down the potty and plugs it up. You call Bonney Plumbing and the guy they send out convinces your wife, who's home with two screaming kids, that you need a new toilet because he can't dislodge the toy from the bowl side. Your wife can't get ahold of you, so she takes his advice. Then, he installs a new toilet for.... $585!!!!! The old toilet was perfect, it just had a toy stuck in it that could have been removed from the bottom side.

By the time your wife gets ahold of you, he's got the new toilet in, so it's a little late to have him remove it. Then, you chat with him about a PRV that needs replacing on the outside of the house. He says it'll cost $407 dollars, with the "preferred rate" that he's kindly giving you. It seems sky high, but he assures you that the metals in the PRV are very expensive these days. So, you just want it done, and you're not sure what the reality is, so you have him do it. Later, you realize that this part costs about $80 over the internet and you probably could have had someone else do it for half Bonney's price.

We were suckered out of a lot of money today. We paid about $250 an hour for Bonney Plumbing's labor and we got a new toilet that we don't even need. It's very small, too, because the full-size one was even more money and my wife was trying to limit the expense. This really burns me up! I want my old potty back!!!!!

I feel like an idiot for calling Bonney Plumbing. They took advantage of us in so many ways. My wife was in tears later over this. I hope a lot of people read this so it really pays off for Bonney Plumbing - those bloodsuckers!!!!!

Very good service. thanks
Much of the plumbing work in populated areas (cities, towns, etc...) is regulated by government or quasi-government agencies due to the direct impact on the public's health, safety, and welfare. Plumbing installation and repair work on residences and other buildings generally must be done according to plumbing and building codes to protect the inhabitants of the buildings and to ensure safe, quality construction to future buyers. If permits are required for work, plumbing contractors typically secure them from the authorities on behalf of home or building owners.

I have used the services of Bonney Plumbing for my homes and my office for the past 3 years. From the moment you call this company, you can feel the difference in quality. They are courteous, professional, and their plumbing work is excellent. Unlike other trades who have done work for me, each of the plumbers from Bonney Plumbing have been very polite, well-groomed, and prompt. They have been organized, efficient and respectful of my time and my property. They carry alot of parts with them and can do the job on-the-spot. The job site has always been left neat and clean. A recent water heater replacement required a building inspector to sign off on the work. The inspector praised the work of Bonney Plumbing and stated that their Building Inspection office knows they'll see quality work when a job has been done by Bonney Plumbing. To me, that comment speaks volumes about the skill and quality of workmanship of this company. Also, their rates are very competitive with other professional plumbing companies out there. I highly recommend these folks if you are looking for a reliable plumbing company with quality workmanship and great customer service.

I just had a terrible experience using Bonney Plumbing.
I called them because they advertise "Free Estimates". I got an estimate & asked many questions as to what would actually be performed for that price. The response I got was a jargon filled & somewhat unintelligible answer (the plumber english was heavily accented). Assuming that actual repairs needed to be done on the tub spout plumbing line (since I had tried to replace the part myself without success due to an unusual part size) I signed the paperwork.
He was done in about 5 minutes. I was astounded (in a good way at first). Then I noticed that he tried to keep the box the new part came in. I stopped him & asked if I could have it. As he finished his paperwork I read the package...
I then realized that all he had done was put a new spout on! I said that to him "All you did was put a new spout on? Nothing else?" He replied yes, that was all he did. To which I said I could've done that , I thought you were removing & adding some type of pipe attachment.
Now here is what made me truly angry - he asked "Are you going to cry now?"
Feeling extremely taken advantage of, particularly because I am a woman I called to speak with the manager or owner. I mean $160 for 5mins to put on a new spout (I had already removed the old one!!!) is a lot but it is outrageous when the guy obviously tried to hide that fact from me when he gave me the "estimate".
I later spoke to the owner trying to explain that I felt that the plumber was not upfront with me about the "work" he was going to perform, but he was even more infuriating & condescending to me "You are just mad because you couldn't fix it yourself"
The owner then made it crystal clear that he only cares about making money was him saying "We are there to sell the job."
Need I say more? He clearly doesn't care about his customers only making as much money from seemingly shady business practices.
DO NOT USE their services unless you want to feel like you have been ripped off!!

We recently contracted with Bonney Plumbing to install two toilets in a home I co-own (with one of the residents)in the Sacramento area. The quoted price seemed a little high but, after research, it proved competitive. When the installer arrived, he said the toilets would need flanges because tile had been installed under the toilets. (I have owned several homes, and installed tile has always been installed to the drain hole, not to the base of the toilet. The tile was not installed after the estimate was made.) The price of the flanges was quoted at $350 each! The resident who spoke with the installer was not prepared to accept (or pay) this additional charge and said she would have to rethink the toilet installation. At that point, apparently after calling his store, the installer decided the flanges would not be needed. The toilets have been installed and apparently are working as they should. The residents of this home are living on extremely limited incomes and Bonney Plumbing should be ashamed.

PROS:
CONS: Much higher price than quoted

We recently had a plumbing problem. We selected Bonney because we had heard their ads on the radio and we knew that they charged by the job not by the hour. We also needed a place that accepted credit cards, which they do. We made an appt for the next day between 12-3. They came just after 2 and fixed our problem. We have had no problems with it since. They seemed to have rates that are comparable with other plumbers.
