Dinner lastnight was $88 for two of us.

I had the orange margarita, he had the house made, mine was better (the house made mix was too sweet), we both had another round with dinner, only this time we both had orange margaritas and requested salt on the rim. (4 drinks total, helps explain the tab total)

Chips were not homemade that was kind of a bummer, but the salsa was fresh, vibrant and had plenty of heat from jalapenos.

We had two appetizers, both ceviches. The special of the day was tilapia "cooked" in lime juice with onion, jalapeno, jicama. The other ceviche was shrimp and equally tender, but sweet instead of fiery. We would order both, but preferred the tilapia because of the heat.

Entrees were lamb shank stewed in its own juices served with rice and beans. And Mole Verde con Puerco. The mole verde was vibrant green and looked like an avocado sauce, but was surprisingly good tomatillo with a little heat. The pork was tender and fell apart, it was simmered not boiled. Same with the lamb shank, very tender, fall off the bone and I even sucked the marrow out with the water glass straw (tacky I know, but it was really good).

The rice and beans were fine, I'm picky about rice and really enjoyed this restaurants style - not sticky, not dry, just evenly cooked and lightly seasoned. The beans had texture that was very enjoyable and topped with traditional cotija cheese.

Pros: Sit Down Mexican Food

Cons: Store Bought Chips

My Husband and I met up with some friends and family members here for appetizers and drinks..before heading out to a show...It was definately pricey but the service and atmosphere are well worth it. The drinks were expertly made and the appetizers came out steaming hot!

My girlfriends and I went here for dinner and were really pleased. The drinks and the appetizers were really yummy and not too badly priced. I ordered the pesto pasta for dinner and it was great! Our waiter was super friendly and always came over to check on us. The interior of the restaurant is simply but nicely decorated. Good food! I'd go back again!

I have been here lots of times, and always enjoyed my food and experience, until tonight. My fiance and I stopped in to have dinner and were seated in the bar area due to the crowd caused by the Barry Manilow concert. Thats fine. It took forever for us to get noticed once seated. To the benefit of the server, her section was way too big for one person. Got got our drinks and appetizers after a long wait. Then the drink glasses and empty dishes sat on the table for 15-20 minutes unnoticed. She passed by us and I asked for the drink menu. She then came over with or main meals and asked "are these yours?" ok. My pizza was missing tomatoes and my fiances meal was way over cooked. I sat and waited to get her attention (still waiting for my drink menu) I finally got her attention and she said she couldnt find one. I explained I was unhappy for the wait and the wong meal. I told her it wasn't her fault but that I wanted to see a manager. LOU came over grabbed my plate and said it was busy and he couldn't make everyone happy. I was caught offguard by his jerky tone with me. He asked what was wrong with it and I mentioned no tomatoes. "oh you want those" well they are on the menu discription. "what do you want me to make you a new one?" at this point I just wanted to go because I wasn't in the mood to sit and wait more for pizza while my fiance ate his died up meal. so I said no. his response was" fine I'll take it off the bill but never come back" what the heck? So I was mad and I asked him to take off the other main meal since it was clearly overcooked. He said "fine everything is free. just never come back". I wasn't trying to be a freeloader. we would have paid for the drinks and appetizers. So we tried to pay and he wouldn't except it. He came over and patted my fiance on the shoulder patronizingly and that just made us even more upset. All I wanted to do was to tell him the girl needed help and get another pizza. But it escalated too much and he ruined our night.

Pros: the food was great everytime before tonight

Cons: if theres anything wrong with your meal you get accused of being a freeloader and told to never come back

Just had dinner at Spiedos last night. What a gem! Food was fantastic, wine selection superb and the serving staff was first class. Best salads I've had.

I will be returning....maybe tonight!

Valentine's Day. The food was great and the wine was fine. An entire year later my fiance and I went again, this time on a Wednesday night and I have to say, it was even better than the first time. The steaks and veggies and potatoes melted in our mouths and the dessert was scrumptious! I would recommend this place for anyone who enjoys fine dining.

Pros: Plenty of parking, Easy to locate, Romantic

Spiedo is a fine, fine restaurant; a total dining experience of worth. It is inexplicable, unless from competitors, to read the 2 negative reviews from 2002. I have been going to Spiedo since it opened; as have members of my extended family, friends and colleagues. Unanimously we laud all aspects of Spiedo from food to service. The ambience is impeccable. Do not trust me, or anyone else, see for youself. Spiedo is a treat, well known as such to almost every team, and their owners, that comes to town and dines there.

I read the 2002 reviews, but had already dinned at Spiedo in June 20, 2003. I found the ambiance to be chic and modern. My entree's presentation and taste were wonderful. I started with the Spiedo salad, and for dinner the rack of lamb. The dinner ended with crème brule topped with red raspberries. The dining area was clean, and my server was energetic and prompt. This is the perfect place for a romantic evening. I return frequently on Friday and Saturday nights for the live music.

It has been a long time since I've had such a bad experience in a restaurant. I told the waiter as we sat that we had a concert to attend, and Spiedos was empty. It still took at least 10 minutes to get bread which was worst than any I've forgotten in the back of fridge for months. Our entrees took a long time as well and my risotto was very salty. Then we tried to get dessert, but the waiter took again about 10 minutes to get us the menus.
This used to be a Sizzler. Spiedos is a step down from that.

Both visits, host was rude, waiters were rude and/or unattentive, absolutely no friendliness or common server-graces to be found. Bread was stale, difficult to get your water filled, and DEAD FLIES in the (tasteless) olive oil cruet.....we had to replace it ourselves with another table's, as the waiter seemed never to be found, and STILL did not take our old bread plates with the fly-oil in them....they stayed at the end of the table until our entrees (even thru the appetizer he left them there!!!). No apology for the dirty oil, just an "oh"... The fried calamari was barely WARM and SOGGY, as if the order had been waiting there for a long time.....surprisingly, it seemed to come to our table only 2 minutes after ordering....someone's LEFTOVERS?? We had given them the benefit of the doubt, but moreso disappointed in ourselves for trying rather then disappointed in the restaurant.
