Broadstone is a full-service racquet club and fitness center. A good friend of mine joined and I was fortunate enough to get a 1-month guest pass to be her work-out buddy. I had never been to such a large gym and the offerings were impressive! They offer a wide selection of classes, extensive cardio area and weights, an Olympic size pool, and too many tennis courts to count. They also have a lounging area in the middle with big tv - great meeting spot for the family after everyone finishes their individual activities... just like home! Locker rooms were big and clean, although finding a towel was challenging on occasion. I went to several yoga classes and thought the instructors were very good, although the level of difficulty varied significantly from one instructor to the next even though the class was supposedly the same. The downside to Broadstone is that all these amenities come at a price. You'd better be very committed to your workouts and tennis game in order to get your money's worth!

PROS: Variety
CONS: Price

We've been members since it opened and have found it to be the absolute best. Employees are very customer-service friendly. They have a lot of activities going on at various times. All areas of the club have their high use periods. Weekday mornings as you saw are the moms and kids times, and summer months the pools are full, although we appreciate the adult and family pool designations. We do have to occasionally get staff to come out and ask underage users of the adult spa and pool to go to the other. But this is for the comfort of all users.

The Broadstone Racquet Club is probably the premier club of its type in the Folsom Area. As a member, what I liked about the club was that offered a variety of fitness options, including basketball and racquet ball courts, an olympic size swimming pool, a weight traing facility, and several rooms for Yoga, Pilates, and other types of classes.

The Yoga classes in particular were excellent and of a much higher quality than you would typically find at a health club. The facility was very clean and the customer service staff was most helpful. The fact that many of the staff make an effort to remember your name was a real plus for me.

A great amenity for members who have kids is their child care center inside of the club. The center staff was very accomodating whenever I dropped my daughter off there and I felt like they were trustworthy and knew what they were doing.

We elected as a family however to leave the club because the fees were a bit expensive for the amount of usage we were getting out of it. And I did find the clubs marketing director to be a bit inflexible when I explored the possiblity with her of them offering a fee package that was more conducive to our family's need.

All in all, my experience with them was very favorable. If they had been a bit more flexible with respect to their member package, I would have probably considered staying.

PROS: Variety of fitness options, cleanliness, customer service, child care cente
CONS: A bit on the expensive side.
