Rating this dentist with 1 star is TOO high. I went to them because I had a tooth ache on each side of my mouth. I was scheduled as a new patient for a cleaning, xray and exam...the dentist continuously refered to the side of my mouth which was NOT the most painful, and he kept referencing I needed a "bridge" & "Crowns" on teeth that were not the issue. His assistant kept reminding him that, that was not the reason she was here. She was here for a toothache, NOT a bridge. He said that I needed 4 crowns, that needed the teeth to be "built up". That my cost was going to be approximately $1400 over the covered portion by my insurance. That took 3 1/2 hrs to complete. I told them I didn't have that kind of money, they said I could apply for "Care Credit", which I did, and was told it was approved. It wasn't until I tried to register on line with Care Credit and during a followup call to the dentist that I was told it was Citi Health Care, not Care Credit.
I made an appointment for a cleaning two days later. I show up and immediately I am told I need a "deep scaling" cleaning that was NOT covered by the insurance and would cost $600, by the receptionist. I brought my spouse in, and after a discussion about what was needed, they suddenly changed the cost to $300. After the treatment, it was further reduced to $174.
While in the chair the dentist had to leave me to go to a meeting along with the hygenist. I was in the chair for over an hour, in which they only spent about 8-9 minutes "cleaning and deep scaling" my teeth via "laser". They also said I need a treatment to inject a antibiotic to kill an infection I had.
The inside of my jaw was sorely bruised and black and blue for a week. I have never experienced this type of treatment before.
I truly believe that we were scammed by this office. That they "recommend" courses of treatment that are not completely called for.
I will not go back to that dentist ever, and thankfully my spouse can change to another dentist.

Smile Care Dental is the reason why people don't want to go to the Dentist, they will over charge you and tell you your insurance will cover the cost and then you will get a bill months later. I feel they knew all along that the insurance wouldn't cover it. Plus after all the work they did my teeth hurt more then before I went in. Worst Dental Company's I've ever been too. Stick with a family owned dentist. I wish I had seen all these bad reviews before I went to Smile Care. Please go somewhere else.

Stay away. It took me over 2 hours to have xrays & exam. I did not even get a prophy because they told me my gums are so bad that I need a scaling and root planning (deep cleaning of teeth and gums) that would cost me after insurance over $300. I have been seeing a dentist all along and had to switch cause of my change in insurance. I asked for the proposed treatment plan and I am going to my old dentist to show him and file a complaint with ADA because I know what they proposed is not true-they are looking for ways to make more money and scare people. They take advantage of people.

Also told me that I need to buy their $177 toothbrush and $25 toothpaste.

They should not even be in business.

Also just found out some time back, they were in newspaper because they were doing unnecessary procedures on children of whom the parents did not speak English.

I have over 20 years in insurance and they are the most unethical provider I have ever seen.

They do not care about you as a patient but look at you as $$$ signs.

First , it tookk three hours fr my visit, two hours to see the doctor.
Then i had bad experience with Dentist before about their billing so double checked with their procedures and asked the doctor to see if that is covered under my plan then they cheked for 45 minutes and came back and told me i have to pay only $33. Two weeks later my insurance company sent me $600 bill. Simple....don't go back there and don't suggest to any of i know.

I had most of my teeth removed and went to them because they were the cheapest. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for. These people are the WORST. Rude people, very long wait times, not answering/returning phone calls, and just plain not knowing how to do their job.I had been been there about 8 times before I saw my actual dentist.

My advice, stay away no matter what....I will pay two times as much before I go back there.

I agree, this place is absolutely horrid! Even though I had an appointment, I was still there spending 2 hours waiting!! I ended up walking out and still got billed! I don't even know what for! The people were rude, the wait was incredibly long, and it was just an all around dark atmosphere. I will never go back.

If you like having ZERO control over which procedures you do/do not wish to have, go to smilecare. They do not follow the same billing as the dental insurance (i.e. insurance says covered 100%, they say 80%/20%). They order deep cleaning costing over $2000 when it is completely unnecessary.

STEER CLEAR!!!
