This is a pretty awesome place to catch a show. I've been here for a couple of small bands and had a blast. This is a small venue so plan ahead to get tickets. This drinks are good and there is usually parking available.

Old school rock and roll club. This places reeks of rock culture. Some bands you've heard of, others you have not, it's a good place to see them all.

This is my favorite venue...the sound is always amazing and they are always on time. Drinks are pricey, but if you're going for a great show to begin with (Tinted Windows - for example), who needs drinks? I will continue to enjoy shows here for many years, no doubt about it.

I went there last month to see the band Punch Brothers- the sound in this place was amazing! The bar was a little pricey- $8 for a Corona, really!? Parking is hard, but that's not their fault. Just don't valet cause they will try to charge you more since it's run by the adjacent busniesses.

What makes the Troub so great? They always have the most up and coming bands, friendly staff, easy parking across the street and most of all great sound and a small stage where you can see the band! It's a very comfortable place where music lovers can congregate.

Tip - go east down Santa Monica (from beach) and park in the apt building parking lot across the street from the club (usually about $8).

PROS: Hip bands
CONS:

This is one of my all-time favorite venues. You can see up-and-coming bands play in a small, intimate venue. There's a really cool vibe to the place, but bring earplugs! It can be really loud inside. They also sell earplugs at the bar. Parking can be a hassle, but usually the way I avoid it is to come early, have dinner nearby, and come back to see the show. You can also avoid paying exorbitant Ticketmaster fees by faxing your order. They only charge an additional $2 credit card fee in addition to face value which is usually only $10.
