PARENTS DO NOT RELY ON THE REVIEWS YOU SEE ON LINE. You can pay someone to write a good review. The bad reviews are usually written by one or two submitting several reviews using different names. There are many reasons for that.

The best way to check out a school is to visit and speak to the parents who have children in the school. Make sure the school allows parents unrestricted access to their child anytime during the day. This will prove that the school has nothing to hide.

Anyone can concoct a story about a business and claim anything. This is very sad indeed.

Before putting your child to attend this place. Ask about teachers and their Credentials.. I'm a parent who had her child at this place and had to take her out because of an abusive teacher (mrs Shirley). One day I went early to pick my baby up from school and found mrs Shirley imitating how my baby was crying. This woman saw me and did not even realized she was being so rude and unprofessional, she kept imitating my daughter in front of me. it took her about 10 minutes to realize what she was doing. That really scare me. Asked the director to call me to talk and she never did. Took my baby out if that horrible place.

Worst worst montessori, Rude & Unprofessional Director, Actually it is not preshool just day care, If you say anything like your child is not picking up she will scold you infront of other parents, if you ask more questions she will threaten to put women harrasment case, there aim is to make children to sit allways and keep calm, no activites.

Bad, bad, bad!! Beware of the false face the director puts on so well. Apparently, inquiring about the level of education her teachers have achieved is a not an appreciated inquiry. All of the sudden the ever so calm demeanor that I was presented with turned ugly and mean. Plus, I witnessed one of the teachers aggressively grab a marker from one of the children. Not exactly a behavior I want my child to learn, or even be exposed to! Another aspect I did not like was that they really do not want parents stopping by to visit their child, because it disturbs the other children from their work. Inherently, the program seems to deter social development. Children only have a small window of time develop essential social skills needed for future interactions with peers. Don't deprive your child of this, because once the window of time has passed, they will never be able to go back and get what they need.

Visited the place today with my son. I found the classrooms well organized and I liked the fact that the restrooms were not located in the classroom as in some schools I visited. The classes were organized well. BUT, the director did have an attitude. Do not if it was the colour of the skin that effected it. But anyways, she just rushed through the whole process, was eager to get us out of the place and when a little girl held on to a toy or something she just grabbed it from her hand. I would not care if my son did not learn all the english. math or science in the world if he was not taught to behave. The teachers though were quite welcoming. The fact is we were two parents with our children and we had specifically enquired whether the kids could come on the first day and they replied in the affirmative.
Anyways, each person's experience is different.

I researched countless preschools, and visited 10 before deciding on what I now consider to be a hidden gem: Montessori Academy of Culver City - it is an amazing school! The best review I can ever give comes from my two toddlers who love going there... they have fun, they feel safe, they have caring and talented teachers, have built wonderful diverse friendships AND they're learning (mentally & socially) beyond my expectations.

Kisha H. Is an idiot and Santa Monica College is not the same as Universities like Georgetown!! This school teaches grammar and math as well as having a thriving physical education program.
