Established in 1965, brothers Angelo and Giovanni took over ownership after years of enjoying Tony's Bella Vista's signature, award winning pizza. Under new ownership in 1987, using the same recipes, they proceeded to win Best Pizza* awards eight times. "Along with the Best Pizza in town, we also have great Italian pastas along with chicken, veal and fresh seafood dishes. We provide catering for all occasions and all the food can be prepared to go. Whether you are just visiting or staying with us in Southern California please join us for our classic home-style Italian meals. We look forward to seeing you soon! "
You will like anything you order at this restaurant. I especially liked their pizza. The prices were reasonable and their help were very nice to me. It is also a good family restaurant to eat at.

If you've been looking for good pizza in LA, you've got to try this place. Simply awesome! My wife and I have made this place a monthly visit and have brought our friends on a few occasions -- and all of them agree that this is the best pizza in LA.
PROS: Awesome Pizza
CONS: Soda in cans

The food here is really good, you absolutely must try the pizza. They are not expensive and the owner and staff are really nice. I love the creative design inside the restaurament because it is made to look as though you are dining outside at night when you are inside during the day.I Highly recommend eating here!
PROS: Food, service,
CONS: None

It's not super expensive, and it's not super delicious, but if you're hungry enough you'll eat it. It's not very exciting @ Tony's but it certainly made us curious enough to stop in one evening and check it out. It's very typically Italian down to the checkered table cloths and lit candles on the tables. It reminds me of Pizza Inn back home, so it was fun in that aspect.

I have had the pizza before at a work party and it is ok. Being from back east I know good Italian food and I have yet to find it in LA. The service was great, the atmosphere is very old world style Italian and charming.
Prices are reasonable for LA, about $16 for a plate of pasta.
HOWEVER
you will not find a great meal here for the money. Lasagna was nothing to write home about. I had the eggplant which was basically fried layers of breadcrumbs in a dish with sauce. I am not sure if there was eggplant in it at all. Not even pasta to take away from the grease. It was very limp and old tasting. I even sent it back.
If you want good eggplant in LA head to Goodfella's or Von's for a frozen Michelina's frozen dinner. For good garlic bread head to Robano's in Toluca Lake.
If you want a good atmosphere and so-so food, eat here.
Pros: charming place
Cons: food

Being a transplant from New York I am always in search of a good Pie. I have finally found that pie at Tony's Bella Vista!! They use the best ingredients and the crust is great too! You order either thin crust or regular crust. Both are good. Check this place out if you want a good pie. Fagetaboudit !!

Great chicken parmigiana & really good pizza! Super place to take a date. I always look forward to going to this place. Be sure to order a dessert, not normally something I do at other places but here it's always a treat.
Pros: Great food, family atmosphere
Cons: Price

I'm afraid my first experience at Tony's Bella Vista was not in sync with most other reviewers! Our server was slow and inexperienced, and clearly hadn?t had any training in regards to the Wine Menu or Food Menu.
Taking the advice of your other reviewers, we ordered the Pizza. To put it nicely, it was terrible! The olives and mushrooms were tasteless, and the pizza overall was soggy, not to mention over priced! I do not believe that I will be visiting Tony?s Bella Vista anytime soon.
Pros: Very casual so good for families with children
Cons: Over priced, poor service, soggy pizza

If you like good pizza, I mean really good pizza, you will love the pizza from Tony's Bella Vista. There has to be hundreds if not thousands of pizza joints out there, but take away all the fast food chain, imitation pizza places like Domino's, Pizza Hut, Round Table, Little Ceasar's, Papa John's, Pizza Man, and let's not forget one of the worst places for pizza, Chucky Cheese! All these places that I've mentioned basically sell what could be labeled, production line pizza, how good could they be? Now enter Tony's Bella Vista, hand made pizza with quality ingredients made the way it should be made, served hot and delicious. The only thing better than taking one of these pies home is eating it at the restaurant piping hot right out of the oven. Beyond their pizza, there are many other quality offerings on the menu to choose from also like pastas and most other popular Italian entrees. One of the owners, Angelo is there most evenings to greet the customers friendly and courteously. There is one thing that could be improved, I'm not a big soda drinker but my wife is and the fact that they only serve canned soda is disappointing. Most restaurants these days have a soda fountain, with free refills. Other than that, you cannot go wrong at this place, especially if your out for some fabulous pizza.
Pros: Fabulous pizza, wonderful garlic aroma when you enter the restaurant
Cons: Parking, canned soda

I was born and raised in New York City. My mother was born in Italy and I know Italian food. I had the ravioli with meat sauce, thin crust pizza and meatball parmesan and the ingredients were all fresh and delicious. It was shocking really. It's rare that I can say that a restaurant serves food ALMOST as good as my nonna's but it's true for this place. madonn'.

I have been to Tony Bella once and found a cheap americanized version of italian food there. I had a clam liguini - precooked and out of a can. There is nothing authentic, fast food quality.
Cons: Fast food quality

I FIND IT DIFFICULT TO DESCRIBE HOW AMAZING THE PIZZA TASTE. I AM ALWAYS LOOKING FOR NEW PLACES TO TRY PIZZA BUT AFTER DINING AT TONY'S THAT IS GOING TO BE HARD. I LOVE THEIR PIZZA ITS HONESTLY MADE TO PERFECTION, JUST THE PERFECT AMOUNT OF INGEDIENTS. I CAN'T WAIT TO DINE THERE AGAIN.
Pros: DELICIOUS FOOD
Cons: VERY DARK ATMOSPHERE

I love this place. The calamari is excellent as is the rest of the menu and the service. All that they need is a soda fountain so we don't have to pay for cans.
Pros: Everything
Cons: They give cans of coke

This is a great, no nonsense, old style Italian restaurant and the thin crust pizza is some of the best in the city! Doesn't look like much from the outside, but don't let that put you off. The service was fantastic, and there was plenty of booth seating for a cozy meal.
Pros: Great Pizza, Good Service, old-style Italian restaurant ambiance
Cons: none that we noticed

This pizza is well worth it, the freshest ingrediants coupled with a chewy, airy dough and a glass of house chianti offers the diner an explosion of taste. The interior welcomes you to an old school "mafioso" setting with red leather and dark wood. Closed on sundays is the only drawback, as this pie should be a staple on a day of football. Chicago meets Burbank and I hope its open for another 40 years
Pros: Food and Price
Cons: Closed on Sunday

a bit pricey..
the food is good.. and the service and ambience is good too..
the service is great as well..
the portions are really large.. we ordered a small pizza and we hardly ate 3/4th of it..

The pizza here is pretty good. The cheese sort of slides off when it's really hot. The pepperoni is ok, thick slices of meat. The garlic bread is very tasty.
I recommend that you take your pizza to go as there are not free refils on the soft drinks. The water kind of has that chemical taste so it's not even a very good alternative.
Cons: no free refils

My wife and I were looking for some good pizza places in the Burbank/Glendale area and stumbled across this place. It's the best pizza I've ever had... Ever. Now, I've never been to New York, Boston, or Chicago, so my opinion may not mean much to some, but everyone I've taken there so far has agreed that it's at least the best they've had in LA. We make it a point to go about one a month now. In fact, we're going tomorrow!

The pizza is good, and I would say they rival casa bianca of eagle rock with less wait. The interior is typical pizza parlor with the dark wood color and booths mixed with tables.
Posted 06/06/06
The food is delicious, and the ambience is warm and elegant. They aren't stuck up or rude at all.
Pros: Easy Parking, Not Snobby, Quality Food
Posted 05/10/06
This place has the tastiest pizza I have had in LA in the last 10 years. The crust is perfect - not too thick, but thicker than other places - and is a great balance of crispy and chewy. The tomato sauce has rich flavor. I took leftover slices home and they even tasted great the next day reheated.
Pros: Pizza, Prices
Cons: Average service

I try all of the recommended pizzerias in search of great pizza in L.A. I have been Casa Bianca, Petrillos, Joe Peeps, Lamonicas etc.... and Tony's Bella Vista is better than all of them. This is not NY pizza, or sicilian, or Chicago style but it is DELICIOUS. The crust is not thin or thick, but somewhere in the middle, chewy on the ouside, soft on the inside. The sauce is garlicky and it's not overflowing with too much cheese that is the downfall of many pizzerias. The ambience is definitely Italian and service is friendly and prompt. We also sampled some of the pastas and they were delicious as well. We will be back MANY times.
Pros: PIZZA

My husband and I used to frequent Tony's when we lived here before...but after moving back to the area with our 2 year old daughter...we freqeunt Tony's even more. We love the atmosphere...my daughter thinks the spaghetti with meat sauce is the living end...its like my mom made! Pizzas are awesome...meat dishes and filled pastas are good...I have only had one disappointing meal and they changed it immediately no question asked. We go every other week to have our Tony's fix. We love it there. The staff is friendly and always accommodating...especially with our daughter! Rarely do you find a place that is romantic and yet great for kids (no spot lights).
Pros: Reasonably Priced, Fun Atmosphere, Family Oriented

I stopped in for antipasta. Lots of meat and great for all of us carb counters. It was delicious and the small was plentiful. The ambiance is from another time and era-Sinatra and Tony Bennett sing in the background. The seats are red leather, high back booths and very dark, romantic! There are small white stringed lights that set the mood just right. Too bad it was my lunch-a glass of VINO would have hit the spot!
Pros: Good Prices, Lots of Parking, Good for Everyone

The best pizza around. Try a medium crust lightly cooked or if you love garlic try the garlic pizza. Awesome! They offer a separate room for large parties or even a social event. We had our wedding rehearsal dinner there and 14 years later had my husbands 40th birthday party. Their very accommodating and reasonable. Enjoy!

I grew up in Rhode Island. Everyone on the East Coast has the pizza place that they swear is the best pizza in the world. Tony's Bella Vista pizza compares with some of the better East Coast pizza places. It's not New York style or Boston Style. It's more like pizza in Rhode Island; chewy crust, tender cheese and sauce mixed together, lighter on the toppings allowing you to taste everything. Everyone who I take to Tony's who is originally from the East Coast ends up eating there several times a week for the first few moths! You even get seated by a genuine grumpy old Italian man with a lot of personality.
Pros: Pizza, Atmosphere, Price
Posted 07/11/03
I'm sure there are a lot of restaurants in Southern California that serve good pizza, but I will say, the pizza from Tony's has got to be right up there with the best of them. I'm not comparing them to "fast food" pizza like Domino's or Pizza Hut (there is no comparison), I'm talking about the real thing! Fresh ingredients, quality cheese, hand made pizza dough, baked to perfection, umm-good! If this pizza doesn't hook you once you've tried it, you just don't like pizza. They have other tasty offerings on their menu too.
Pros: Great Pizza!, Nice Atmosphere, Great Service
Cons: Limited parking

One of the best Italian Restaurants I've ever dinned at. Have lived in 48 states and I tryed various Italian restaurants in each city I've lived. By far this is the best so that I've found anywhere.
Five Stars all around.
Cons: This place has no con
