Pros: Great Margaritas

.

I live in the area and ate at Camacho's about 10 years ago, and was very disappointed with the taste of the food. If was very bland, probably the worse Mexican restaurant I have ever visited. I swore I would never eat there again.

Fast forward to March 2010, my wife and I have some time alone from our children and decide to spend some time at City Walk. We thought we would give Camacho's a try again, hoping our first experience was just a fluke. We were wrong!

The food was very bland, we actually had to salt and pepper everything. The portions were very small, especially for the price. I ordered the fajitas, which to my surprise didn't come with cheese. I asked for some cheese and they brought me a thimble size cup of cheese and charged me $1.50, wow. My wife and I ate about half our plate before we gave up and threw in the towel, but I did finish the thimble of cheese. I'm really not sure how you manage to screw up cooking rice and beans, but somehow they have perfected this skill.

The service was just adequate, nothing special. The waiter was nice, but not very attentive.

I'm thinking if you like Camacho's it's probably because you had 2 or 3 margaritas before actually eating the meal. That would be the only reason I can see anyone liking this food. I'd like to say I will try getting drunk first on my next visit, but the truth is there will not be a next visit, ever! I would rather eat something they serve on "Fear Factor" or "Survivor."

Hope this review saves you some money, and a bad meal.

Pros: The bathroom Valet

Cons: Everything else

Great bar to go to before a movie up on city walk or to meet friends for drinks after work. The food is okay, had a bone in a fish taco...horrible. The service was very good.

Great food & strong drinks! Live mariachi band, customers are encouraged to join them on stage. The chicken flautas are the best and they even have fresh handmade tortillas at the tortilla bar!

Me and my wife found this gold mine five weeks ago and find this to be the friendliest place in LA. The staff and the Margaritas are in it self two reasons to go. Absolutely brilliant,

Having struggled to find the best date place, trying all the fanciest places out there - The best I found was Camacho's. Seriously. Outside at night it seems to be below ground as there is a wall - not just a wall but a little water fall with fountain. You hear the rush of the water and it is so dark and quiet.

I have been there for dates and also been there with my family of 6 - My in-laws, their other 2 children, my husband and me. That day it was very busy and the manager had put only one waiter in charge of WAY too many tables. One couple got impatient and left, and then ANOTHER couple decided to take advantage and get a free meal. They picked at their food and then left - claiming their soda was flat! (Free-loaders) so while that poor waiter was being yelled at, my family found the manager, complimented his service, and then gave our waiter his tip personally. We have all worked in food service and know it was not his fault. The waiters do try very hard and we must have asked for around 20 different things but always got what we asked with no attitude.

I would reccomend Camachos for a date - just sit outside.
I would also reccomend Camachos for a family meal - just sit inside.

It is right on CityWalk so there is fun nearby too!

PROS: Outside, food, service
CONS: None
