Our family favorite on the westside of town. Chicken marsala is the best. Lasagna with bolognese sauce is good. Beautiful restaurant, great service.

Girandas reminds me of the neighborhood family restaurant. The atmosphere and home style sauces look and taste just as Italian home style cooking but the comparison stops there. The dinner starts with 1 slice of bread to dip into a olive oil and vinegar mixture that is tasty and good, however all the bread you get is 1 slice per person cut in half and the limit is stated on the menu. The spaghetti meal didn't come with the meat sauce I ordered but a plain sauce and barely was enough to cover the spaghetti. My wife and I agree this restaurant didn't measure up to some others in town and a family priced restaurant it is not. Prices were a little on the expensive side for the meals we got. Ample Parking but handicap parkers had to park some distance from the entrance in an adjacent parking lot.

Pros: Ample portions, Good parking

Cons: limited bread, Expensive, distant handicap park

Girandas is by far the best in town for Italian food. It reminds me of the nieghborhood family resturants that I used to go to as a kid growing up in the City. All the food is fresh verse the open the can pour out the sauce chain resturants. No offense to the chains but they can't compete with Girandas in my book. Just bring back the cannollis.

More about Gironda's Italian Style Restaurant & Bar

History Established in 2002 In Redding, Jim & Penny Gironda got tired of hearing people say, "It's good enough for Redding." So when they opened Gironda's they vowed, "Nothing's too good for Redding." They said, "We've never heard of service being to good." The cuisine is influenced by Jim's grandmother, who moved to Chicago from Italy in 1929. Dinner favorites include 7 kinds of ravioli, plus veal, shrimp, chicken piccata, prime rib, tuscan steak, & steamer clams. For dessert, try our homemade cheesecakes. Wine list focuses on Italian & California wines and from the bar signature martinis & cocktails. Fresh baked breads are severed with our homemade herb dipping oil. The Gironda Family have two words for you: mangiare, mangiare. Translation: eat, eat. "Our goal is to provide you with Great Food, Excellent Friendly Service, Good Values. If we didn't, let us know. If we do, let us know."
