Malaysian food and restaurants are too difficult to compare. Kuala Lumpur has food that reflects more of the Southern and Indonesian parts of Malaysia, whereas Little Malaysia in El Monte is more Northern food, from Penang. You won't be disappointed with Kuala Lumpur, however, I found it to be more expensive and the dishes smaller than Little Malaysia. The fresh coconut juice is too fun, especially when they seat you by the window! ;-D - ssp

Really great Malaysian food! Plus, it's cheap, fast, and the atmosphere is pretty pleasant.

The food in this restaurant is about as good as it gets in Pasadena. Try the Sayur Lodeh--it's the best lemongrass curry ever. If you like sweed beverages ask for a Chendal-- it's a sweet coconut milk-based drink available seasonally.

Pretty decent food, they have some vegetarian dishes as well. The one I had was much too salty, but everyone else seemed to enjoy their food.

Decent to great food on the cheap. Not all dishes are the same -- the Mee Rebus and the curries are excellent, where the salads are sometimes too sour.

Interesting, inexpensive Malaysian food. I highly recommend the chendol drink (without ice), and the Mee Rebus which is a very soft and tender beef dish. A bit dingy inside. Staff is very nice, and the young waitress who works lunches there is a sweetheart.

4 Stars: Good stuff (by Gavin W.)

Great food-- I had the Hainanese Chicken, and it came steaming hot, boneless sliced breast meat only (some places give you dark meat with the bones). The quality of the food was apparent--I've had this dish elsewhere, but this was the best of all of them. I came here for dinner and had their famous "night-market" noodles and their catfish, which were both excellent.
