This place has the worst hookah by far. Almost as bad as Habibi Cafe's Hookah. The service is below average also. The waiter's are rude and I felt like I wasn't welcome. I will never go here again.

Use to be one of the premier hookah lounges in LA but that was a few years back. I decided to give it a try this weekend and was extremely disappointed. The quality of hookah was poor. When asked to see the various flavors, one wasn't available. We weren't left a pair of tongs and the server came over once every 20 minutes which resulted in unsmokable hookah smoke.

The killer was when the bill came, they had already included a 15% gratutidy on our check. So hookah for two and an order of tea costed $30.00. I went to Gypsy Cafe in Westwood the night before. Service was 100% better, hookah menu had over 15 flavors, and the price was reasonable. We had 3 people, 1 hookah, and 4 drinks totaling $32.00.

Okay I used to go to this hookah cafe quite often when it first opened by a guy name Vinnie. Notice the positive postings are old. Back then the food was great and the hookah was good. Now the food is decent (seems like a half az job compared to before) and the hookahs haven't been changed or cleaned for that matter since the last owner. The hoses are filthy, the flavor is only good for the first 2 minutes after that you are smoking charcoal. To top it all off, you dish out quite a bit of money for the garbage you get.

Pros: decent food

Cons: bad hookah, bad service, bad crowd

I've grown up with shisha (hookah) around me all my life. This shisha isn't the worst in LA but tries very hard to achieve it. The ambience is nice, the location is cool, the crowd is okay, but the actual hooka? I'll come back again, but definitely not to smoke shisha.

Ramma Geni is the perfect place to chill out with your friends. Enjoy a pot of tea and a flavorful hookah and you're all set for hours of relaxation. Recommended tea: Veni's blend (with ginger and spiced mint. Add a touch of honey and WOW). As for hookah, we like 007 and LA Trash. They mix their own blends of flavors, so experiment. See if you get Luca as your hookah attendant. He's great. (Remember to tip the hookah guys seperately from the wait-staff.) Crowded on lots of nights, so call in a reservation ahead of time. I think there is a $5 min, so be prepared for that. Parking sucks.

I would consider this a hidden tresure, it would be compared to the cafe from friends with a middle eastern twist. many comfortable seating, especially ask to sit in the V.I.P. section if you want a little more peace and quite.
