A Wonderful Treat  5 Star Rating - World class

I have become an avid fan of this fine establishment. IT is a place were I can pop in and get great food and outstanding prices. They have an extensive menu and have all types of dishes from steaks to kebabs to exotic greek dishes. I always feel special every time I go in because of how well they know me and really make me feel welcome. It is an experiance that you do not get at many other restaurants.

If you love bad food, dine here!  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

First of all,let me say, living in the Pasadena area for 40 years more than qualifies
me to chime in on the famous (Or infamous) BC's as locals call it.
Last time I was there,I played it safe by ordering the Tues. cheesburger
special.It is a miniscule,lousy thing with limp fries but for 3.50? a bargain.Make
sure to bring tums. The others in my large party were not so clever and ordered
various inedibles such as a Philly Cheese steak which was urecognizable
as such,a chicken cordon-something with marinara sauce which was slathered in deep fry grease. This was a peptic abomination, and left unfinished like the other meals. Other memorable culinary atrocities were the chines chicken salad whose wontons were upon closer inspection actually toasted pieces of lavosh bread
with a negligible amount of chicken. The middle eastern plates curiously were accompanied with basmati rice.
Not one of my party of ten liked their dishes, including me who ate namsake "Burger"
We all were joking and making fun of the food and the owner heard us.He took care of us by sending more food!! which went uneaten,of course.Followed by stale cake for dessert which went uneaten also.I give him credit for trying but a refund might have been more appropriate.
The restaurant is very unsanitary,it is a joke among locals who wonder how it stays in business. One night I was there with girlfriend who had the salad bar which had
some spoiled things in it that made her lose her appetite.
All in all,thumbs down,BC.

mixed reviews  3 Star Rating - Satisfactory

I enjoyed the place overall, but felt a little strange about how cleanly the place was. Overall on ok experience. I'd go back for the cheap beer.

PROS: variety, laidback atmosphere, price
CONS: service, excess pigeons on patio

Wonderful Food, Friendly Staff  5 Star Rating - World class

The lamb here is very tasty. I recommend the Sunday buffet, for about $13, you get omelettes (made to order), baklava, chocolate-covered strawberries, variety of meats (including the lamb), and anything else you could want.

There has been live entertainment just about everytime I've been there -- sometimes there is a bellydancer!

Great middle eastern restaurant  5 Star Rating - World class

In spite of the name, the best thing about this place is the middle eastern food. The Mon and Tues $2 burger special is great for students (burger, fries and bottomless soft drink), but the breakfast buffet (all week) which includes shish kebab, fresh fruit and baklava in addition to eggs, sausage and bacon (about $5) is amazing. They also have an all-you-can-eat buffet lunch for about $8 weekdays and Sat which is huge! It even includes made to order pizzas which is great if you have a kid not into homous and shish kebab. I have friends who have moved elsewhere that always have "BCs" on their must go to list whenever they are in Pasadena and for good reason!

Modern/Traditional Greek Food  5 Star Rating - World class

Burger Continental has been around at least since the 80's. Owned by 2 Greek brothers they started out as tiny little patio burger cafe. In the past 20 years they have expanded their patio and started a weekend brunch tradition with the locals. Order your favorite green salad or cheeseburger and get some chips with Greek salsa or a Falafal on the side. The Middle Eastern food here is great, no one has better humas. The atmosphere is fun, great for all ages, service is quick, feel free to ask for side dishes or additional condiments to your burger. You wont forget your experience and will want to go time and time again. At night there is music, also order your favorite pitcher of beer! Prices cant be beat, lots of parking.

PROS: Excellent Middle Eastern/Greek American food & ambience
CONS: Nothing

Burgers pbbbbbt  2 Star Rating - Wouldn't recommend

Despite the name, their burgers are just ok. I can see that we ordered the wrong thing, seeing how everyone here raves about the more ethnic dishes. As to their burgers, we ordered ours with mushrooms and got some of the canned variety -- not too appetizing. We looked around and saw other dishes, and a lot of people here, so I'm chalking this one up to poor ordering. Can't blame us for being fooled by the name! The service was great, though.
I came here for their breakfast buffet, and it was mediocre. The tongs were placed inside the covered food trays, so it was difficult to get your food without getting burned. When you sat down to eat it, you realize that the food isn't that great. Only good thing was the price, $4.99.

"burger" is a huge misnomer!  2 Star Rating - Wouldn't recommend

After hearing raves about this place, I wholly expected fresh burgers with delicious sides. But as soon I took a bite into my Western BBQ cheeseburger, I was quickly let down. The meat was old and had a distinct aftertaste -- perhaps it was overcooked.... The fries were disappointing as well. The prices though are a great deal -- all you can eat salad with a burger for around $7. But the catch is that the salad bar is limited - more ethnic food than anything. If you come here - come for the ethnic dishes -- not the "burgers" at Burger Continental....

4 Star Rating - Very good

This restaurant is a terrific choice for a guys breakfast out, a ladies lunch break, and a family dinner. The entrees are delicious. I enjoy greek food, and appreciate the number of entrees they serve. Indoor and outdoor seating are available. The entree prices are reasonable, and the portions are large. Burger Continental is located on south Lake Avenue, a little above California.

Always great food at a great price, with a huge variety of American and Middle Eastern foods. Also great Mon & Tue special (burger, fries & drink for $2!) And great weekend morning buffets also. Discounts (10%) available for the asking to Caltech alumniand Christian missionaries. NOTE: Avoid embarrassment from belly dancers by avoiding the lunch hour.
