I don't know about you... but on my weekendsI like to go where people are actually having fun. there is a tight "door discretion" policy which means the pretty are priority ... & once inside you can mingle amongst the gorgeous crowd. the 2 dj's on both the dance floor and the patio sweeten the deal. 3 bars! 3 BARS! it's a great venue for dancing. i've heard that the restaurant is pretty good too! for guestlist consideration or bottle service email me "ritual guest list" in the subject line, how many ppl ini your party and a myspace/ facebook link. my email is cjatthedoor@gmail com

The place was better when it was White Lotus!!! There is never a line and you have to pay $20 to get in. I've been to better clubs in hollywood.

Bought presale tickets to their Halloween event 2008. Got to Ritual around 10p. Went to will call desk set up outside and staff there was extremely unorganized. Told us to wait in line with others who also bought presale tickets. Everyone in this line was pushing, shoving, cutting in and some even fighting (where was security? talk about the chaos of the wild west). The line was a cesspool of disorganized grabastic amphibian dung! Finally worked our way to the front and after an extremely long wait the bouncer in the front asked us how many girls we had in our party. WTF...we paid for our presale tickets already and waited very long in line, why should that have mattered? Luckily we were in a group of 4 girls and 1 guy so we finally were able to get in. It was close to midnight when we finally got in after waiting in the presale ticket line for almost an hour and a half. Once we were in we made a rush for one of their bars. We were able to get to the front. After over 30 minutes of waiting they finally took our drink orders. We had friends who didn't buy presale tickets and to compensate they got there very early and waited in line for over 2 and 1/2 hours. While in line they noticed the club promoters give a bunch of blue tickets to their own friends and acquaintances and it seemed as if most of the club was filled very fast with their own friends and acquaintances. Even the people who bought presale tickets were neglected which is extremely unprofessional for any establishment. Some even bribed the doorman a C-note or $100 and still had to wait an hour after the doorman got their money. After we finished our drinks we all left because this place sucked big time. We ended up going to Forbidden City down the street and got right in and paid $20. We thought our Halloween would be a complete disaster but fortunately we left the horrible experience of Ritual behind and were able to go to another club instead.

I wanted to celebrate my birthday at a nice club and I booked my table with Jennifer for Friday, September 26, 2008 at Rituals. I was told that I could get there at 9:30 but when I got there they said that I had to wait half an hour in line, well, nicely, I asked if I can wait in the bar and they agreed. I had a great table and my friends had a lot of fun. A few of them wanted to know how they can book their birthday there. What I didn't know was that the guy who cleaned out my table was going to take my gifts that were in a bag with him. He thought that we were drunk and would leave without noticing. When I asked the security they treated me like a dog and all they wanted was to kick me out of the club. I don't understand why the guy had to remove the gift bag from the table. The security brought me back the bag but without the gifts, he said he found it in the trash. NICE! The music and atmosphere was great until the end. I called Jennifer the next day and she didn't respond to my call. I have tried calling a manager but the person who answered the phone said that they don't have a manager until Thursday, October 2, 2008. Furthermore, I paid over one thousand dollars to celebrate my birthday there and all my friends were supposed to get in for free, didn't happen, I found out the next day that a few people had to pay to get in. Also, I asked the waitress that at the end of the night, I wanted to pay with two different credit cards and the waitress agreed, but at the end she decided to run my card without letting me know. I was paying with my business card and I didn't want to pay the whole amount with that card. Well, she made me feel as if I would not pay them, they even got a fingerprint from me. I wonder if everybody gets finger printed? They were not organized at all. There are other clubs and I will never go to Rituals again.

My husband and I went to Ritual for a friend's birthday tonight - we started with dinner so we could get free club admission, but since they wouldn't seat our party until all 16 of us showed up, our 8:30pm reservation turned into a 9:30pm sit-down. Sure, not the restaurant's fault that members of our party were late, but the restaurant wasn't full and the table we were seated at was empty for the whole time we were waiting; why not just let us sit down? Ordering our food and drinks was pretty quick, but then we waited... and waited... and waited for an hour and a half before our food came. Since everything on the menu was overpriced ($18 for chicken?), and we were there for our friend and not for the upscale dining, I ordered the vegetarian ravioli and my husband ordered the ahi poke, a couple of the cheapest things on the menu. Well, vegetarian ravioli turned out to be 5 small pieces of runny-cheese flavorless ravioli with pasta that was way too thick and undercooked, and peas that tasted like they were cooked a week ago; and all that for $16? I sent it back with my complaints, but the waiter said that ordering another entree would take another hour and recommended I get an appetizer instead. So I ordered the honey walnut shrimp, which thankfully came out 10 minutes later - but the shrimp was over-breaded and under-cooked and the sauce was way too sweet, so biting into it was like eating super-sweet sticky flour. My husband had a mixed review for his ahi poke appetizer: the fish itself was good but the wasabi soy sauce that was all over it was way too strong, so it overpowered the fresh fish and pineapple that otherwise might've been very good. Also, since it took so long for our food to come, they had already turned the dining room into a lounge and everyone in there was smoking around us while we ate; it was disgusting. Don't eat at Ritual - it'd be better to just fork over the $20 club cover if you really want to dance here.

Cons: expensive bad food, slow service, expensive parking, smoking allowed in dining area

IWhere the hell do you usually go to dinner if you think $18.00 is too much to pay for chicken?? If you go to Tony Roma's, the chicken plate is the same price..and that's Tony Romas!! You do mention that you were there for a birthday and not the upscale dining, so you really shouldn't try to play food critic if you don't know what you are talking about.

I can't stand it when people who are used to Hometown Buffet or Sizzlers go to a fine establishment and then have the nerve to complain about the food, and/or the cost.

Frankly, I think you are a professional reviewer who gets paid to write bad reviews, since #1, I dine at Ritual every week and have yet to experience a bad meal, and secondly, your review is dated on a Sunday, when Ritual is NOT EVEN OPEN!! Oh and thirdly, what are the chances that EVERYTHING you tried was not good?? I get the fact that restaurants have bad days, but the chances of everything not being to your satisfaction is just plain ludicrous!!

Starting with parking , I was welcomed by a rude attendant who treated me like he was doing me a favor for parking my car for a minimum fee of $20.00. When I complained about how expensive it was, he ironically offered me VIP parking for $50.00 and $100.00 and told me that i was lucky to find a space as they were almost full at 11:30 PM on the week-end. When I sent an e-mail to management, not even a response. Definitely dissapointing and one should expect a bette response and reaction from such an establishment's management. I will never recommend it, nor will I go back.

Terrible treatment of customers. Manager removed patron from bar after bar tender told manager that patron didn't tip sufficiently several weeks before. Manager removed patron notwithstanding patron's recent purchase of $80 of liquor at the bar, which was dumped out. An unfriendly and crabby staff, coupled with a management that has no sense of business savvy and is on a power trip, makes this probably the worst place to go in Los Angeles.

I'm reading some of these reviews and they are making me chuckle...overpriced and small portions?? If you want to eat a cheap steak, go to Sizzlers, they are on practically every block in Los Angeles.. and they have an all you can eat menu. if you want to eat Chef Andrew Pastore's top cuisine..go to Ritual. You pay for what you get, honeys, and the food served here is top notch!!!

My husband and I crave the delicious sushi all the time..and cannot wait until Valentine's day to go on our date there...try the Filet, it's to DIE FOR!!!

It's fun but, the bartenders have no qualms charging you for drinks you never ordered. If you catch them when you're there though (before you sign your receipt), they're likely to fix it because they can't even tell you what it is they're charging you for.

Well, where shall I begin? First of all I had reservations for dinner but the door guy couldn't seem to find it. He literally walked my friends and I to the hostess stand where low and behold I did have a reservation. We were seated fairly promptly because they will not seat you until the majority of your party is on the premesis. Once seated we were given the bread bowl, but no one thought to fill the water glasses. Once we had almost consumed the bread I was finally able to wave down a english challenged bus boy to let him know that we would like some water and to order drinks. I will say that once we had a waitress she was very attentive and sweet. The food was good, nothing to write home about, but good with a great presentation. The ambience was really nice, lots of candles, the tent like roof, waterfall and banana trees . A little chilly at night due to the open spaces between the roof and walls. After dinner we stayed around to dance. My friend went to the bathroom and I will say she took a while in the stall. They kept pounding on the door. I was concerned for a moment. Then I saw activity in the stall and knew she was OK. She then broke her wine glass as she exited the stall. The bathroom "monitor" grabbed her by the arm and immediately, no questions asked, escorted her to the street. I would recommend this place for dinner, but by god be quick in the bathroom and don't break anything!!!! I personally will not be returning!!

I haven't been to the club side of this place, so I can only speak about the restaurant. As far as presentation goes, it is among the most gorgeous food I've ever seen. Even though the restuarant was empty (it was a weeknight), we had a great time. The waitress recommended their signature cocktail (I already forgot what it was) but it was delicious, fruity and had an edible flower on the rim . The tempura squash blossoms were beautiful & delicious and I just had to try the "Mystical Chef Andy Cut Roll" which is similar to a rainbow roll except this one has caviar & REAL GOLD FLAKES on top of it! It was so gorgeous I didn't want to eat it, but we did and it was yummy. The halibut entree was incredibly moist and flavorful and the swordfish was good, but I don't really like the heavy texture of that fish. Anyway, the only real con of this place is that it was so empty, so there really wasn't much ambience -- I hope it stays in business!

I heard about this Club/Restaurant by a friend that was raving about it from his experience there last week so I decided to give it a try. My girlfriend and I really enjoy dining out and finding those hot spots around LA that give you a strange mixture of, glamour, elite and exclusiveness and yet are casual and relaxed. Well I have to say that from the moment we arrived and got accommodated at our table to the moment we left the Valet, Ritual was all that and more. As far as food goes, the Chef's signature Cut roll appetizer suggested by the our servant was exceptionally delicious and the blackened swordfish entrees we've tried were just phenomenal. For the most part everything in the menu is reasonably priced and could accommodate anyone. The service was prompt and friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed, enjoyable and a lot of fun considering the mixture of Hollywood A listers and the regular clientele. Our overall experience at Ritual was a thrill and we highly recommended to anyone.

Me and my girlfriend were very impressed with layout and feel of the place. As soon as we walked in, It felt warm and relaxing; exactly what we were looking for. Service was awesome and the food was tasty. The club was equally well. The bartenders were prompt and friendly (very professional).

My trip to Ritual Supper Club (the newly-made over White Lotus) seemed relatively unremarkable, until I discovered that the valets had vandalized by car while I was there. The realization that an expensive GPS unit was stolen out of my glove compartment, caped one of my worst nightlife experiences in LA. After paying 10 dollars and waiting 15 minutes for car retrieval I made the foolish mistake of driving off the lot, only to discover the next morning that my property was stolen. CA Parking Services, who provide much of the valet services in the Hollywood area (be warned), made virtually no effort to investigate into the theft and Ritual never returned my repeated phone calls for an explanation as to why they employee such a truly dishonest vendor for their patrons. Following a rude and perfunctory letter from CA Parking Services in which they denied my detailed and solid claim, the valet service provided neither compensation for the theft nor any form of investigation. In conclusion this club is definitely not worth the hassle and patrons of the clubs and restaurants in the area are better off saving their 10 bucks and taking their chances by parking on the streets then trusting thieving and dishonest valets with their cars and property. You have been warned?

I live right nearby on Mulholland and thought I would give the club a shot. I showed up with two girls and asked for bottle service. The list of what went wrong after that goes on longer than I have time to type. What it boils down to is that this is one of the worst clubs in LA.

The worst club ever in the hollywood. went there with few girls on sat night and reached there very early. had to wait there for 2 hours. The guy outside with a little beard was allowing people who were coming late and not even on the guest list. There is no concept of line, you have to be blonde with less clothing and you will be in. People at the door are really rude and they think that they are some big shots which they are not. you wouldnt even talk to that kind of people if you see them on street. Dont waste your time there. The music is even worst. It was a nice place when it used to be white lotus but not anymore. highly unrecommended.

Pros: none

Ive been to more than a few clubs in LA and Orange county but this is easily one of the worst Ive been too. The reastaurant has decent food but the portions are a little small for how much you pay. There is a young guy that works the door who spends most of his time on his sidekick and generally not paying attention to anything going on. THERE IS NO LINE TO GET IN!!!! Everyone outside just stands in big clumps around the entrance area with no clue as to what were suppossed to do or where to wait. Beyond that the only helpful or genuine person working the place is a girl who appeared to be new to her job. The club inside is a joke like the guy before said its a sports bar with no sports. They dont let enough people in to fill the place and they just tick everyone off outside by having to figure out how to even get in the place. Don't even waste your time on this place.

I went there last Saturday with my fiancee and his sister from Arizona. It was totally empty and I know why. This club used to be "White Lotus" and it was really fun, good music, good etc... They totally changed the lay out of the club. The music was horrible which they tried to sync with music videos so people were standing there looking stupid before the next song came on. It was almost like an upscale sports bar with no sports. We asked the DJ to play some different music and he said he couldn't until later on. So we left!! Don't waste your money or time to park. Sugar the club across the street is horrible too!

Not sure what this other reviewer was talking about. They haven't even had their grand opening yet. it's set for some time in early July. The place looks beautiful and the staff was very friendly. Maybe to me because I was one out of about 50 that had vip service. You look good, dress nice they'll treat you right.

They made a lot of changes from the old White Lotus. I'll be going back real soon.

Pros: Great service, Great music, loved the Plasma Video Mixing.

Cons: Get there early, gets booked fast.

My girlfriends and I decieded we would give the LA club scene one more chance. We decieded to go to the opening of Ritual, which was a big waste of time. The guys at the door were rude, especially the blond that is usually at Area on Thursday nights. I guess it's the one night these losers can feel important, since everyone is trying to get in and it's all in their hands. Herman the usual LA promoter often found at Mood was also there and was rude as usual, guess you have to do a couple of lines with good old Herman to get on his good side. the club has not changed, the inside looks exactly the same, the biggest celebrity they had on their "Grand Opening night was LC from "The Hills" what does that tell you. anyhow please don't waste your time trying to get in to this place it was a sorry excuse for a club, especially for a week night. They make Area look good...... The LA is scene is so overated, that drive to Vegas just seems to keep looking better and better........

i went here for a friends 21st birthday. the sushi was fantastic. i definately recommend coming for dinner. it is a very nice ambiance. ask to sit outside. after dinner everything turns into a club. so eat dinner so that you dont have to wait in line for the club then. you just get right in. the speciality drinks arent that good. its an older crowd becuase it is more expensive. the music is pretty good. i think i probably enjoyed dinner more than the dancing. i would come again with a big group of people i know. i wouldnt come with a small group of people becuase then you end up getting hit on by a creepy guy six inches shorter than you who sayshe is "going to introduce you to some producers" when in reality he is a construction worker. it would be fun with a group of people you are already acquainted with
