I have been shopping at this Tower Records location all my life. Well, actually this location used to be across the way near Bay Meadows race track but then moved to this snazzy joint closer to "the Mall". In any case, the prices are decent: they are not expensive, but not cheap either. The cashiers spend all their time sitting behind the counter so there's always someone there to take your money.

There is almost never anyone on the sales floor who will help you. I often see salespeople on the sales floor, but they will never ask you if you need help. You have to ask them, and they will usually give you a cursory answer (if they have an answer) or will tell you they don't know.

For some reason about 3 weeks ago not long after the CompUSA opened up next to them they were playing the music extremely loud (I'm talking about danceclub LOUD!). It was so loud I felt like complaining to the management. Now I'm not the kind of person who enjoys rocking the boat so I just left. The sales environment is not good, but if you just want to come in and browse the CD's and pay a decent price then you should find it here.

One last thing I need to get off my chest: they don't sell records here anymore which makes me wonder why they continue to call it Tower "Records"?!? For a while after LP's made their decline they continued to sell singles I guess for the segment that enjoyed collecting these. But I haven't even seen these around anymore.

If you're a music fan, chances are you already go to Tower Records to pick up the latest hits from your favourite artists. What I like about this Tower Records location is that they carry a good selection of balanced music with something for everyone in mind. As most Tower locations, they are slightly expensive, however there are usually sales going on with some of the selections. They have not only CDs, but musical accessories and just random odds and ends. Magazines and books and DVDs are also available at this location, this is a must go to place.

PROS: nice people.
CONS: parking is a hassle.
