BAD AND HORRIBLE COMPANY! ! !

by jackie k.

I had the same problem. They did not take one thing I had. I had clothes for a family of five plus and shoes. Also name brand clothes and shoes in good condition. When other people came in they took there stuff. I think it was a discrimination thing.

Customer Service Was Laughable

by Cristy V.

I had an experience that was a carbon copy of the one Jean Marie M had.

After stumbling upon the Crossroads website, I thought it would be the perfect place to get rid of some of the clothes I had outgrown and make some room for some new clothes. I called to see what kind of clothing they were currently accepting, since websites tend to be outdated and not current. The girl I spoke with, mumbled a list, sounding like her attention was elsewhere. Instead of asking her to repeat the mumbled list, I started to list the brand names that I had. She flatly stated that they only wanted "high end clothing that was 4 months or less old". Apparently, Ann Taylor is too conservative for them, and Tommy Hilfiger or Ralph Lauren aren't "high end" enough for them.

Considering that the website advertises that they accept anything from "The Gap to Gucci", I would have to say they are guilty of gross misrepresentation at the very least. And the bubble gum snapping, "high school sophomore staff" needed a lesson or two in basic customer service etiquette, just for starters.

Thankfully, I didn't have to waste my time going to this store, to see that it was an absolute "thumbs down".

CONS: Rude, condescending "worker's permit level" staff. "Bait and switch" advertising tactics.

PROS: Never had the opportunity to make it past the "CONS"

Cross this off your list folks....

great bargain

by Val S. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 2,775

trendy designer clothes for cheap: For young hipsters on a budget, you can't beat Crossroads. They buy used clothes from the public, but only the hottest designers & the latest trends. Diesel, Bebe, Abercrombie & Fitch, Sketchers, with a tiny smattering of vintage styles. Lots of denim & casual clothes. Prices range from $8 for a stylish T-shirt to $50 for barely used designer shoes that cost triple when new. Stock changes daily.

Poor Customer Service

by laura h.

My daughters have spent so much money here over the last year so when it was time to clean out their closets we thought "Wow" lets take some items there. MISTAKE! The lady was completely rude and out of 3 big bags the lady told us that this stuff wouldn't sell there. HELLO. we bought some of it there. The girl ahead of use had some items in a trash bag that looked gross and yet she took them. Oh well, seller beware! Don't go expecting them to be friendly unless you want to BUY items... I would much rather have my girls buy items elsewhere than be treated like dirt and talked down to.

I will never set foot in this store again!

by Jean Marie M.

I wish I would have read the reviews before visiting this store so I would have been more prepared for the dismissing behavior I received. I took in about 6 boxes of clothes, shoes and purses only to be told that they had no need for even 1 item of my things. Brand name items from Bebe, Ann Taylor, Levi and Lucky blue jeans,Tommy Hilfiger, Liz Claiborne, Alfani, and Esprit to name a few. I was told that anything plaid or with a skull and crossbones would be a hit. Wow, let me just say that my expectations were not met, I would not recommend going there or taking anything there to try and sell. I will be sure to tell all my fellow thrift store shoppers to leave this one off their list and I hope you do the same.

Used Clothing Store

by Anonymous

The customer service here just sucks. Its plain bad. I once went to the store to sell some of my clothes and the lady sitting there worked so slowly with the person ahead of me that I had to get
out of the store.

Howevery, you can find some cool used clothes here. They sometimes have expensive brand name clothes for very cheap prices.

worst customer service in the world

by Teresa L.

These girls(yep GIRLS not women) should not be in the public they laugh at people when they bring in clothing ""yeck they are crazy this lady thinks these would sell hahaha"" i am a secret shopper and boy the stuff i Had to report talk bad about you while you are walking through my sister came in 8 minutes after me she sat in a chair by the counter and listen to them talk bad about the clothing i brought in they had no idea that she was with me ""CAUGHT YEA"" they are just RUDE and i cant believe people shop there very high priced and the clothing is not at all what i call classy I HAVE 3 SECOND HAND STORES with very high quality clothing at reasonable prices and my employees are great after being at your store sure made me grateful for my employee's you should teach your employees don't read a book by its cover cause had I have been dressed like I normally do I would have had better service like my partner did.. not good ... I have been there a lot and spent probably $3-4,000. and always treated good but a wig and a little bit of down dressing sure makes a difference in your store we should all be treated the same hope you change some of your policy's

PROS: nothing
CONS: DIRTY SHOP, RUDE EMPLOYEE'S,HIGH PRICED,EMPLOYEE'S DRESSED VERY TACKY,

OK

by Kathy W. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 5,906

I am forced to go to Crossroads since the yare one of the few vintage clothing stores in the area. Their selection is decent but nothing like what you'd find in SF. The staff is also pretty snotty for some reason which I cannot fathom.

Great selection but hit or miss on snotty staff

by Jaimee C. | insider Insider | Rank: 32,333

I bring in clothes to trade and sometimes just go shopping without trading in stuff. The selection is eclectic, fun & fashionable - you'll find everything from basic white tees for under $5 to a pair of gently used Jimmy Choo stilettos for $150. Tons of skirts, shirts and pants in a veritable rainbow of colors as well as accessories (including watches, purses & jewelry). Shoe selection isn't great - especially if you have tiny feet like me - but persistence pays off if you keep stopping in regularly (new stock daily!).

The only downside is if you happen to be there on a day when their snotty, snide or catty employees are on duty. Sometimes they have a tendency to congregate at the back of the store and talk about their friend/boyfriend dramas, last night's parties or any number of other stupid, shallow things while ignoring the actual shoppers.

PROS: Great inventory, new stock comes in all day long, every day!
CONS: Can't try on more than 6 items at a time. Return policy sucks.

Greatest used clothes shop in our area

by Amit K. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 1,638

They have an amazing inventory of clothes and some shoes and accessories but their collection of jackets rule!! They have a 14 day return store-credit policy. But you can expect to buy a $90 jacket for $25 or lower. Ample parking space in the lot adjacent to the shop and the staff is very helpful. You can also sell your old clothes that you dont wear anymore for decent prices.

PROS: Decent used clothes
CONS: on return you get only store credit

Better used clothing

by Regina N. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 4,125

The San Francisco shop near UCSF has a better and bigger selection than the San Jose store, but parking here is a lot easier and there are many good finds for a small amount of money. Bring a bunch of used clothes that you don't wear anymore to trade for new used ones.

Cool Used Clothing

by Julie R. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 1,588

My friend Carol just told me about this shop and I have been back numerous times. They have a very good selection of used clothing. I have found some really great jackets. You have to check back often to find the best selections.
