I have used Elisa's three times spread over about a year and every time they have been friendly and efficient. The only time out of these three that I did not get exactly the one hour that I paid for was on New Year's Eve (2007-2008) when I was in for over an hour and was not asked to leave - I left when I thought the hour was up and it was actually about 70 minutes, possibly because they did not have a customer in following me. On the other occasions when they did, I just heard a polite knock when there was about five minutes to go.

However, a lot of the other posts concern treatment received when getting a massage which I have never done, so I cannot comment on this.

If you want a pleasant, relaxing soak in a warm tub with a sauna and shower for an hour, under the stars, this is the place to go.

Pros: Under the stars, warm, polite staff.
Cons: Can be noisy if there are people in the other tub, the floor mat in front of the benches can be agony on the feet though you don't have to stand on it to get un/dressed.

I stumbled upon this place by accident... I walked in and asked for an hour hot tub and 1/2 hour massage. The woman at the front desk (not the owner ) said she would fit me in. I got about 20 minutes in the hot tub before her next appointment came through and then to compensate me she allowed me in the Steam Room.

I liked the to tub. It was not chlorinated and I appreciated the outdoors of it. I like the natural sunshine. Its not fancy but then I can't afford fancy. It was a decent hot tub in a secluded spot where I could relax and enjoy the outside.

I LOVED the steam room. One does not find actual steam sauna's too often, usually just dry. The steam felt good and the room was clean. The benches were a bit uncomfortable and I mentioned that. The woman suggested that next time I pull in the plastic chair that was in the anti-chamber/shower room) attached to the sauna. "Good Idea", I thought. I'll do that! I did not get the hour but I was so drained by the sauna that I did not really care. It was more my choice than anything.

Linda did my massage. She was WONDERFUL! Talk about deep tissue! There was very little of the deep pain associated with deep tissue. She is highly skilled and made sure she got the problem areas for me. I had her concentrate on my neck, shoulders and back because thats where I carry my stress.

I did get the person banging on the door (yes, real life hammering) and yelling "Massage 30 minutes, Customer waiting). Linda was very apologetic as she was trying to take my pain away. She gave me her card and I plan on calling her for an appointment. I'm looking forward to the steam room again too.

All together I would say dont expect much customer service and stand up for your time if they try to cut you short. The intimacy of the hot tubs is nice and the steam room is just terrific. And by all means. Go see Linda! For the price its worth it.

Cons: Tacky Front Desk Person, Tacky surroundings, low class attitude

The hot tub rooms are clean and comfortable. However, do not expect to actually GET an hour, or even 50 minutes. I've been here 3 times and each time the person before me ran over at least 10 minutes, in one case 15 minutes and we were NOT ever allowed to make up the extra time ourselves or given a partial refund. Basically you can bet on getting about 40 minutes if you pay for an hour. Since this is really the only clean, safe place to get a hot tub in the city I'll keep going back. I think it is worth the cost and very relaxing. Just don't expect to actually get a full hour and don't expect friendly service.

Pros: affordable, clean, comfortable rooms
Cons: you will NOT get the full hour that you pay for - EVER

We are from NYC and loved the Russian-Turkish Baths- nofrills, kinda funky. So we are no spa snobs.
I took my husband there for his birthday during the middle of the day.
We loved the outdoor private hot tub setup. We took some snacks and booze. It was great.
But unfortunately the attitude and service of the manager (she said she was Elisa's sister-in-law) was sour and awful. He had a massage that was apparently going past the 30 minute mark because I hear her banging on the door to his room yelling "Massage is 30 minutes." His massage was fine until then.
I also made the dreadful mistake of getting my twice a year eyebrow and lip wax with her. Suffice it to say I had horrible scars and burns for a week after.
So skip the extra services and have a thick skin when you deal with the front desk.

Pros: hot tub, affordability
Cons: customer service, attitude, hot wax

I love this place. Its not fancy or uptight. Its clean and the tubs are otuside with a shower and bench. Its a great treat if you and a friend or two want to soak and unlike other places its pretty easy to get in last minute. I bring my own towles and beverages and chill. I've never been grossed out which is a lot to say about hot tub places in this city. In fact I think I'll go there right now.
