1 Stars: Don’t kill your evening…What an awful place (by Na`eem A.)

My visit to the hell started by going online to find a place to enjoy the evening with my Cuban wife. I found a website which shows an awesome and fancy Cuban Restaurant. When I checked the menu online it was relatively reasonable (around 14$ an entry).

When I arrived their, the restaurant was very small from outside. The bad thing is if you self park your car even in front of the nearby stores you still need to pay the guys 5 $ for valet parking. That was new for me, never happened before so I decided to ask the manager inside who confirmed that and told me that the cleaver owner decided to do that. Well I paid the valet guys who were laughing in a sarcastic way, and I got inside the Palace.

Inside, the place is very small; they attached mirrors to the walls so you get the sense of the wide roomy place. I thought that I am in the wrong place. Any how it was the right address.

The chairs were very small and uncomfortable. The tables are small too and very close to each other so you cant get any privacy.

The surprise was when the waiter brought the menu. The cheapest entry was 24.99 $ which is different from the online prices. Any how I thought that the quality of the food may worth the price. My wife (who happened to be Cuban) helped me to order, the food took more than 45 minutes and it was just some breaded steak. The quality was very regular and you can get a much better food in any regular Cuban restaurant. How ever, the salad was very bad specially the avocado salad (a small plate with half a piece of avocado and some onions for 8$).

The staff was ok beside of the guys at the valet parking.

I dont recommend this place for any body. If you are looking for a fancy Cuban restaurant try some thing like coco palm which is way cheaper even.

4 Stars: ahhh is for ajo (by nick t.)

When you arrive at El Floridita you may think you are too early -- it becomes a bustling salsa club later in the evening. For now, prepare your taste buds for some savory goodness; try the pollo or the camarones al mojo de ajo, steamy bread, washed down with a cool cerveza; excelente! The vege platter with aroz, frijoles, yuca and plantanos; oh so good...
