Today I talked to the Manager on the phone regarding a pending charge on a visa gift card. I have a $50 hold on it from trying to use it there but didnt know you couldnt use them at the pump. When I told him that he had to call the Visa credit authorization line to release the pending charge he stated "We have nothing to do with that" I think he said his name was Don. But it was on 1-5-11 at 1:30pm. Someone needs to train their employees correctly. when there is a credit card authorization pending all you have to do is call Visa, MC, etc. and have it released stating that you have no intention of using that authorization. So for Don, or whatever the name was, all it would have taken to save this customer was one phone call. I live down the street behind the Edwards Movie theaters and I go to this station because its convenient but its not convenient anymore after this. Good Job Manager!!!!

To begin with, I have been a Shell customer since I began driving in 1994. I have always enjoyed Shell's services and employees which is why even to this moment I cannot believe how badly I was treated by this employee, Sean. At this particular Shell Station on Mira Mesa Boulevard, I buy gas there at least once a week, depending on how my week is going. Last night, I didn't need to buy any gas but I did need to fill my tires with air. I realize that the policy is to buy gas before I can use the air pump, however I am a regular customer who has paid money at that location weekly for years, so I didn't think it would be an issue.
First, I went into the cashier booth and saw Sean, a heavy-set, brown skinned man with short black hair, looking down at the counter and scribbling on a piece of paper. He didn't even bother to acknowledge me or say anything at first. After a few moments, without even looking up, he says "how can I help you?" At this point I'm already shocked at his behavior so I'm not sure how to respond. Again, without even bothering to look up, he says in a voice that's clearly irritated, "how can I help you." Trying to be diplomatic, I assumed that maybe he was having a bad day and decided to leave it at that. Trying to be as polite as possible, I calmly asked, "could you do me a big favor and please turn on the air pump outside?" Sean barely looks up at me and says, "did you buy gas?" I said to him, "not today, I don't need any." Sean then doesn't even bother to say anything, but just returns to scribbling on his piece of paper.
I'm so appalled by his behavior I can't believe it. Once again, trying to be diplomatic I offered to buy a candy bar in the store to at least pay for something. Sean replies by laughing rudely, stating "oh, ok, you can buy a candy bar in here but you can't put in $.75 into the machine outside?" I replied by saying, "you know what, don't worry about it because you're being a jerk. I will call your owner/manager tomorrow." Sean replies by saying "whatever," and goes back to his scribbling.
I don't know what Sean's problem is and quite frankly it doesn't matter. He's in the customer service industry and he has an obligation to treat his customers with respect and dignity. He certainly shouldn't be rude, dismissive and surely shouldn't be laughing at them. I have been using Shell's services for over 14 years, but if this is the kind of treatment that I can expect from Shell and its employees I'm sure that I can find a Mobil or Chevron with courteous employees who will gladly take my regular business.

BY THE WAY, WHO TOOK MY FIRST REVIEW DOWN? I POSTED A REVIEW LAST NIGHT, SPEAKING OF MY BAD EXPERIENCE AT THIS LOCATION AS WELL AS ANOTHER REVIEW BY ANOTHER USER THAT TALKED OF BAD EXPERIENCE WAS TAKEN DOWN. WHOEVER YOU ARE STOP TRYING TO COVER UP THE PROBLEMS THERE...

it's good gas because it's shell, and when you go there it's really clean and sometimes it doesn't even have the gassy smell that some of them have when you step out of the car.

This gas station is a station that is in the middle of the race for gas prices. It doesn't hace the best prices but if you're coming off the freeway and in a hurry this is a great place to go.
