5 Stars: LOVE IT!!! FUN!!! EXOTIC!!! GREAT PRICES!!! INTERNATIONAL!!! (by kera s.)

It has been awhile since I've gone to the Berkeley Flea Market. At the time, we lived in San Franciso area. And my husband and I would ride the BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) to the Ashby flea market on Saturdays. It was great fun. One could travel the World (Russian jewlery, ant repellent chalk from China, hats, purses, tee-shirts from Africa, etc.) If your planning on visiting this part of the USA, include a trip to the Berkley Flea Market. You will not regret it.

PROS: A fun family flea market. A World flea market. You will not regret it
CONS: A bit difficult to find street parking.

3 Stars: You'll find everything... AND the kitchen sink (by Sam L.)

This is a quirky fun thing to do on a berkeley weekend. You'll find a little bit of everything at the Berkeley Flea Market. It's actually located in the Ashby BART parking lot, so even if you don't live in Berkeley, you can get there really easily.

5 Stars: great bargain shopping (by archie p.)

this flea market is located right near the border oakland/berkeley; right in the parking lot (really) of the ashby bart station. even though this flea market is rather small, it has huge varieties of items you can purchase. every saturday, you'll find me there. i remember my first visit, there. i got off the bart, with only $21 in my pocket....i left with a new wallet, a new dvd (wont mention the kind), and a pack double AA batteries...and i had 6 bucks left. i recommend this place. and it's not too crowded, either.

3 Stars: Berkeley Flea Market (by Arlene S.)

The Berkeley Flea Market is fun to go to. They have a great selection of vendors and usually different each time I go. They have some neat antiques, jewelry, clothing and food. Parking is difficult to come by though in this area of Berkeley but the place is within walking distance from the BART station.

5 Stars: Outdoor one-of-a-kind bazar (by Jowana M.)

If you are looking for that one of a kind item as a gift for yourself or a friend you will find it here.
From vintage cookware, books, clothes, and just about anything you may think of and many more items you can't think of are here as well.
Music, live drums played by locals fill the air as the smells from several different food vendors fill the air.
Although the flea market is small compared to some others, it's easy to spend hours there.

3 Stars: Litte selection, good food (by Ajna R.)

Ashby Fleamarket has mostly handmade soap, wooden goods from Africa, incense, and overpriced garage sale junk. Lucky for them, they also have really fun food stands with unusual and tasty food. The smells of 20 incense stands, exotic foods being barbecued, and strange North Africa perfumes make this parking lot exciting and fun to stroll around in. But don't expect a traditional flea market - there are few good deals here (or even products you would consider buying). But Asby Fleamarket is still a fun place to while away a Saturday afternoon.

2 Stars: So sad, this used to be a true flea market (by Lucinda T.)

This was a wonderful place to poke around in a decade ago. Now its filled with vendors with the same store jewelry, soaps, clothes, knick knacks and cleaning products. No more finds from grandma's attic and hardly ever a booth where someone is actually selling stuff out of their own attic. Don't bother to go.
