too expensive for semi-cheap food

Outback is a fun place, a bit silly perhaps, but it's still a chain restaurant. The steaks are decent but alot of their dishes are fried. The service has been really good at this location though.
Cons: bit expensive for a chain

Totally great lamb rib roast
by imasflady
I see a number of bad reviews but, I have always had a good meal here. I like that it is consistant. I've eaten at Outback in Delaware and all points in between and have never had a complaint about the food.
If you get the prime rib seared and seasoned, you will love it.
My favorite food there is the lamb rib roast but the prime rib is second.
I've never had what I could call "bad service" but it does get crowded and if you don't have patience, don't go during the prime dinner time.
I often call in an order to go. It is nice to drive up and have a great dinner ready to take home and eat. Maybe those with no patience should try that.
I think the wait staff does as well as they can and they are always pleasant in whatever city I'm in at the time.

Steak tasted old and dry. Variety in the menu was to be desired. Not enough selections
Pros: inexpensive
Cons: food, too dark, very little variety

yuck

Went to the one on Blossom Hill once (and won't go again). Stupid waiter claims the steaks were 'thick' gosh I could get thicker steaks at Cosentino's. Anyways he suggested to order one more level of doneness to compensate, was that a mistake to believe. A so-called medium coooked all the way through? No way. Going to Hungry Hunter in Milpitas.
Pros: closer to home
Cons: poor service, poor value, too noisy

You're kidding
by Christine1204
This is the second worst steak I have ever paid money for. It was not cooked right (even after two "send-backs"), and it was the stingiest, toughest beef I have ever put in my mouth. What a waste of money.
Pros: Casual
Cons: Crowded, long wait, bad food

Have Your Appetite Ready!
by basicgourmet
Outback is nothing, if not a place to bring a very big appetite. Each meal (assuming you order such) comes with choice of soup or salad, bread, a truly heroic size entree' as well as a choice of veggies and potato.
A key thing to remember with Outback when it comes to meat is order by internal temp. Rare means red and cold on the inside.
Pros: Big Portions, Great soup, Better ceasar salad
Cons: Limited menu, Uneven quality, Not the best steak

Why Fried?
by sirjames
Who wants a "Fried" steak when you can get one that is grilled over some good charcoal? The Outback should learn to grill - not fru.
Pros: Lot of parking, No pesky valets, Price okay
Cons: Tough steak, Noisy as hell, Waiter rude

Bland Prime Rib
by nelziq
I had the most unbelievably bland prime rib here. Was fairly satisfied with other aspects of the restaurant and food, but what is a steakhouse without steak?

This steakhouse serves not only steak but has a varied menu, for those who do not like steak. The food is always excellent and service also.

I think Outback Steakhouse is the best restaurant I have ever been. Especially the ones located in Campbell and Cupertino. The service is fast and reliable. I would not choose anywhere else to go in the bayarea than Outback Steakhouse!
Pros: Great Food, Great Service, Fun Environment
