If you want a VW hazzle-free car buying experience, I would highly recommend Stevens Creek VW dealership and ask for Frank Spagnola and Greg Kimberly.

You don't want to spend your money here for sure.
1. No one paid attention to us when we walked into the office. There were no other clients and like 3 sales people.

2. When we asked to show us a car we walked all the way to it and then sales person realized he forgot the keys

3. We were not offered the test ride, you could just sit there for few minutes and that's it.

Felt like teenagers who are treated like this "because you're not going to purchase anyway". Well, guess what, we've purchased another car in another dealership.

I would give this dealership zero stars but the program forces me to choose at least one. I recently leased or thought I had leased a new CC. I submitted a credit application one week prior to heading over to the dealership to look at the car. They said I was approved and sent me home with lease contract, and my new car. Two weeks goes by and I recieve a generic looking letter in the mail stating that they cannot find financing and I must return the vehicle. So I call the finance manager who lies to me and says that he never said the car was mine! Why would my name be on the registration of a car that isn't mine? He then goes on to say that if I want to buy a different car, or agree to a different down payment he can draw up a new financing contract. I thought they couldn't get financing for me, sounds like they are trying to make more money out of the deal. I am returning the now used car to them and will take my business to a legitimate dealership. I would recommend that everyone stay away from the crooks at this dealership. Bad business is not a good thing to practice in a slow economy, when plenty of other places are hungry for a sale.

Cons: misleading information, lies

In December of 2007, I received a promotional letter addressed to me from SCVW to bring in my 2004 Beetle to trade in for a new 2007.
I went readily as I had purchased a 2004 Beetle from them, but the payments were high, and I wanted to unload it because I needed more room as I now had disabilities and a dog. The dealership did not honor the promotion which stipulated no money down, and made no credit worthiness disclaimer. They kept me there from 1Pm until near 8PM bringing out various older modelled cars Jetta and Passant and other makes, trying to get me to buy a model years less than the one I had. They did not sell me an' 07 VW. They said my credit was not good enough. They eventually sold me a trade-in 2005 Taurus (didn't tell me it was aleased vehicle) and wrote the contract for $300 downpay of $294 a month. Shortly, they claimed they could not finance the car at that price, and without my consent tore up the contract and wrote another, raising the price.
Eventually I went home, but two days later they called me in because that deal didn't fly with their financers. So, they filled out the change of contract form this time, and wrote another contract, increasing the interest rate and cost. Before tis deal was over, I paid $500 downpay and they had written the contract three times; let me take the car and after 20 days, they send me registered mail trying to rescind the deal because the financing fell through. At the last minute, they found financing, and I kept the car. Later, I found the car had mechancal problems( brakes) and odometer and that the drive train warranty (with a$250.00 deductible--no less) was wortheless. They are a remorseless, thieving and slick bunch. Stay away. I'll never do business with them again. I am suing. Oh, I reported to them DMV and they recommended I do the action. That's the recourse. No stars for them. The program made me choose one.

They were unwilling to negotiate the difference of about $1,000 on a used 2003 passat, two weeks before their new fleet of cars was/is scheduled to arrive. Cheesy used car dealer tactics.... for some reason I expected more. Definitely disappointed.

Pros: greate inventory

Cons: horrendous sales team

I went there to have a valve cover gasket replaced for the third time on my 2001 passat. After the work was completed I drove back to work for a couple hours. When I went out to my car there was a puddle of oil on the ground. I tried to contact someone in the service department, but of course it is a ghost town after 6PM. Luckily the Sales manager David Wei said if I could drive to the dealership he would let me borrow a car.

I found out the next day that the new cam tension was bent during installation. I was told that they would wipe down the bottom of my car which was covered in oil from the night before. I looked under it and there were still droplets underneath. I pointed this out to the service adviser and his comment was "you can bring it tomorrow". They definitely do not know how to handle a customer after they make a couple mistakes. I would find a local shop to work on your car and never go there. They do not show any feeling of remorse it seems. They said sorry, but I did not get the impression they mean it.

I spent over $32,000 on a new car at the dealership and in return, I received the rudest post-sales service. Where shall I begin? Let's start with Raja, who sold me my car. I ordered accessories that were initially supposed to be delivered with the car. Then at contract signing, I was told that I would get the accessories within weeks, possibly days. 6 weeks pass. No contact from the dealership. When I call to ask Raja for an update, he tells me that delivery of the accessories is not his problem, I need to work with Service department. I tell him he needs to handle it and Raja responds by hanging up on me.

When I informed his sales management of the situation, they defended him. "Raja didn't mean to hang up on you. It was an accident". Well, why not call me back then. "Raja had another customer coming in". The attitude was sorry for the inconvenience but now you got what you need so leave us alone. Never again would I buy a car from them.

I went to a mechanic with smoke coming out of the engine chamber on my VW passat. My regular mechanic quoted an exorbitant amount for the repair, and I was concerned about violating the warranty. So I then went to Stevens Creek VW, and they said that it was covered under limited parts train warranty and hence free of cost. They also recommended me to change the timing belt even though it was only 60k miles and I had the car for 7 years. They recommended other services and parts replacements, but they never pressured me to get them done, just calmly told me the consequences and told me it was upto me. I initially declined all the extra services, but then later called them over the phone and got most of them done. I was treated with courtesy and respect and that prompted me to give them my business. I also got the managers specials and the deal turned out to be very sweet.

Pros: Very respectful service staff, gives a clear breakdown of problems and costs

I have never had such horrible customer service. They took my Cabrio into the shop on a saturday it is now 2 weeks and i have not seen my car! They have not even gotten my parts yet! Thats fine, but i work 2 jobs and go to school so being without a car is not in my best interest. I could not get any help from the service department unless you count un returned phone calls. They lied to VW of america as to when my car would be finished and they refuse to give me a loner vehicle as it is not under my warranty. I have been to another service shop and never had a problem with a loner vehicle. unless you want your car in the hands of un friendly and incompetent liers stay far far away from this place.

Pros: they have cars on the lot

Cons: they do not back them up

Stevens Creek VW approached me through an ad I put on craigslist to sell my car. A price had been negotiated and agreed upon on several different occasions. When I went to the dealership for the second time after being reassured of my price I get a handshake and a congratulations in person that they will give me the price agreed upon. They go on to tell me how I have to go over to the financing department to complete the paperwork and ask me where I would like my check sent too. The guy walks off supposedly to get the papers together and comes back 45 minutes later to tell me that he has bad news. He can't buy the car for the price we had just verbally agreed to. He had to drop the price down 1300 bucks. These people just jerked me around and apparently have done it to countless other people. I went home and googled them and found a BOYCOTT SCV blogger site which I can't post here because it is too long, but you can find it if you google STEVENS CREEK VW...it is about the fourth one down.

Please think twice before choosing the place you want to spend your hard earned cash at. Look for dealer reviews on Citysearch, Yelp, or the Better Business Buraeu before you get lied to, cheated, and stolen from.

Pros: ummm, what?

Cons: They have no ethics or regards for contractual law. LIARS!!!

After a quick follow up and letting them know I was "taking my time" looking for cars, the level of service dropped quickly. Multiple times they said they would e-mail information and they never did. Didn't respond to any one of my e-mails. Once I found a car that I like and haggling with them for about a month, I called in to schedule an appt. to buy it only for them to inform me they sold my car without even telling me. Avoid like this place like the plague.
