Absolutely horrible. I went in a while back because my insurance had changed. Went in with open mind. The ladies were all very nice-no complaints there. Dr. Hayes diagnosed me with map dot corneal dystophy and was very sure of it. She told me I could no longer where contacts and would not be eligibile for lasik surgery because of my condition. Then i went on to pick out glasses from their very small selection and actually found a pair that i really liked so that was okay. Maria billed me without acknowledging that i had double coverage from both my mother and father (a conversation i had with her and my mother and i clearly told her that there was double coverage). So she bills me. Turns out she billed me way too much and that too much time had passed so my insurance wouldn't reimburse me and neither would they.
Now I'm ticked. So i go back to my old eye doctor-sucking it up to pay the price. I go to an eye exam without saying anything about map dot corneal dystrophy (what Dr Hayes diagnosed me with) . The doctor said i had really good eyes, so I then told her about what Dr Hayes said i had, and my eye doctor said she would check again to make sure. Nope. nothing. She said there was no way i could have map dot corneal dystrophy.
Uptown Optometry had no desire to help me.
-Poor Customer Service
-Their doctor misdiagnosed me
-They overcharged me.

We do our best to try to maximize the patient's insurance. We Strongly Recommend that as a new or returning patient that you bring all of your insurance information and be aware of what your insurance covers. Unfortunately, this person did not alert us to the fact she had not 2 but 3 insurances, and asked us after we had billed her 2 insurance policies to add on another.Her insurance didn't allow retro-active billing of that nature. They have a good selection of frames and helped me find the perfect pair. The service was great and the prices were reasonable. She even adjusted my old frames which I did not purchase from them. They did all the insurance work and things went very smoothly!
